This particular example was sold to grain dealer W.H Woodson of Penalosa Kansas on August 4th. 1937, this truck is still included with the original 1937 Kansas title. On January 21st, 1974 the truck was sold to the previous owner Mr. Wagner at Jim's Motors of Rolla Missouri, the original receipts and dealer invoice is included. Mr. Wagner was a member of theCave State Cruiser Car Club and showed this truck at local car shows. It is included with the original judging sheet from the St. Pat's Annual Car Show "Autos of Yesteryear" March 19th, 1977, Rolla Missouri. Its gray paint and red accent stripe wear just enough patina to remain in good solid condition. While its body is solid, the glass and trim are in good, original order for their age.The truck’s body is solid, the wooden staked cargo bed is in good order, while the chrome front bumper shows some patina, too. There’s a windshield wiper only on the driver’s side but is inoperable. This truck rolls on new BFGoodrich Silvertown tires up front, size 7.00-20 while in back there are four Denman RNS tires in good, original order. Each tire is mounted to a black wheel with chrome center caps.A 24-stud Flathead V-8 engine from the late 1940s replaces the truck’s original Flathead V-8, and it has a rebuilt carburetor, new spark plugs and a new battery. This engine is bolted to a three-speed manual transmission. Additional refurbishment includes a cleaned and sealed fuel tank.Inside, the black bench seat is in very good order, the black headliner is in decent shape while the four-spoke steering wheel shows some cracks in the spokes and the horn is inoperable. The instrument panel is full of patina and the inner door liners are in similar shape and has a aftermarketamp gauge and the temperaturegaugeis inoperable.A 1935 redesign for the Ford truck line brought a more curvaceous grille, skirted fenders and a more laid-back windshield, which left them closer in appearance to contemporary Ford cars.Competition to this Model 51 in 1935 included 1.5-ton versions of Chevrolet, Dodge and GMC trucks, among many others. As time marches on, these Depression-era trucks are getting harder to locate. This example still has a lot of life left in it, whether you want it to work or just look good.
