Factory J code 302 4V four speed car. ordered from the factory with the J-Code 302 4V motor, four speed top loader transmission, limited slip rear axle, heavy duty suspension, power disc brakes, styled steel wheels, and sport deck rear folding seat. The Mustang has the same options as a GT would have minus the fog lights making this car considerably rare. 69,000 original miles. This Mustang is exceptional giving that its a near mint unrestored survivor. This Mustang has never had any rust and is 100% rust free.
The Mustang was under the second owners ownership from 1972-2017. From 1972-2005 the car was driven occasionally. The Mustang has not seen rain since 1972 as it has always been garaged. The Mustang was put in long term storage from 1981 to 2005 and occasionally driven the block to keep the car in good mechanical order.
In 2005 the second owner of the Mustang sent the car to the mechanic to have the car gone over after its long term storage. A brand new Vintage Air conditioning system was installed, the A/C is literally still brand new as it was never charged after the installation. The cost of the system was approximately $5,000. New rear leaf springs, power rack and pinion steering, front and rear shocks, front coil springs, gas tank, radiator, brake calipers, lines, rear wheel cylinders, power steering rack, gas tank were also installed at that time. The car was only driven for a few months before it was put back in storage again due to the second owner having health problems and not driven much in till I purchased the Mustang.
ENIGINE- This car was ordered from the factory with the rare J code 302 4V motor. During my ownership I installed a new Edelbrock 600 CFM electric choke carburetor with matching Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Petrononix electronic ignition (no more points), valve covers, air cleaner, radiator, flex fan, fuel pump, battery, temp sending unit, all rubber fuel lines and vacuum hoses. Recent professional complete tune up, carburetor adjustment and timing.
TRANSMISSION & AXLE- This car was ordered from the factory with limited slip 3.00 rear axle and four speed transmission. I had the original four speed transmission recently serviced. I also installed a new shift bushing kit. The transmission shifts perfect.
BRAKES & SUSPENSION- Essentially this car was ordered with the same options as a GT. This car was ordered from the factory with heavy duty suspension and power disc brakes. New updated high end power rack and pinion steering rack and pump. New front calipers, pads, front and rear brake line, rear wheel cylinders, and brake shoes. All of the rubber bushings on the front end was recently replaced including; upper and lower ball joints, control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, sway bar end links, tie rod ends, ect. New front and rear shocks, front coil springs, rear leaf springs. The Mustang drives like a new car, the steering is tight and responsive.
PAINT- This cars original color is Highland Green. The car has had one high quality repaint to the stock Mustang color of Raven Black. This was a high end paint job as all trim and windows were removed. The door jambs were all painted correctly as well. I recently had the paint professionally cut/buffed and it turned out gorgeous. This car has NO RUST ANY WERE. As mentioned the car has been garaged and not seen rain since 72. This is the epitome of a time capsule survivor in like new condition. It is hard to tell by my pictures, however entire undercarriage of the car is in pristine condition. At first glance the car looks restored. I have had several people comment about how nice of a restoration the car has, When I tell them its un-restored they can't believe it. The body is strait as an arrow. The car has never had any accidents. The car has all of the original glass including the original windshield as the glass has its correct markings. A very subtle window tint was installed on the car at some point.
INTERIOR- The interior is in mint condition and is completely original with the exception of the Grant wood steering wheel. I installed a cobra horn button for a custom look. The seats look brand new as does the headliner, dash, carpet, interior plastic panels, and door panels. The car still retains its original radio. All electrical works including all of gauges, dash/interior lights ect.
WHEELS & TIRES- Less than 100 miles on brand new Torque Thrust wheels with BF Goodrich T/A tires.
HEATING & A/C- Brand new Vintage Air conditioning system installed within the last 500 miles. The heater works great and the heater blower motor is nice and quite. All heater control levers work correctly.
**The car still has its original door data plate and a Marti Report.
This is truly one of the finest un-restored original J code four speed fastbacks out there. The car starts as soon as the key is turned. The Mustang runs drives, and even smells like new. This is a no disappointments car. The car looks as good in person in pictures, runs and drives better than new thanks to the mild performance and reliability upgrades that have been done. The car needs nothing and is turn key ready. Clean and clear Washington title.
