1961 Ford Falcon

This is a 1961 Falcon convertible. You may say Ford didn't make a Falcon convertible till 1963. This was done by a conversion company. I couldn't find any info on the company. It has a 260 V8 engine. This was part of a conversion also. The engine runs but the automatic transmission has a hole in the aluminum tail shaft. It lost all the fluid. The tail shaft was broken previously. This car came from Texas in 2002. It was licensed in Ohio in 2002 and then was parked in a garage till Sept. of this year. The engine sounds very good running but the transmission slips due to lack of fluid. This will present a problem when loading or unloading. As you can see in the photos the body is in good shape. It had a repaint at sometime prior to 2002. It has one bad spot that will need repaired behind left rear wheel as you can see in the fifth photo. As you can see under the hood there is no rust out. The inner panels are in good shape. The top is in good shape but the rear window has a corner coming loose. The interior is in good shape with no rips or tears in the seats. These were recovered most likely at the same time as the convertible conversion was made and includes a Sprint console that is in good shape. Door panels are good, the carpet is somewhat faded and worn. The white dash knobs are toasted from the Texas sun and will need replaced. Gauges such as gas and temp work. Oil and Gen lights work, Radio working condition is unknown. All of the glass is good. The windshield does have a short crack at the bottom on left side. The battery was relocated to the trunk. The tires are new with zero miles, The steel rims were stripped and powder coated. A set of hubcaps are in the trunk. The bumpers are original and in good shape but show 50 + years of wear. Side trim is good. The convertible top was adapted in a very professional manner and looks like it has always been there. I couldn't find anything cobbled up or just plain messed up. The top latches down on the windshield straight. This is a unique car that could be prized as one of a very few in existence. It does need some work to be road worthy but it will be well spent with the end results.Winning bid will need a $500 nonreturnable deposit thru PayPal immediately and balance wired or paid in cash when car is picked up.
