1940 Ford Other

This is a very nice looking 40 coupe built 8-10 years ago by a very talented gentleman who sadly passed away a few years ago. All the information listed here is second hand from the fellow who purchased the car from the estate. He knew the builder rather well so I have no reason to not believe it all to be factual however I cannot document anything I cannot see for myself. The body, paint and chrome is all very nice so I would label it very nice driver quality however I understand that the car did win quite a few awards at various shows in the MD, PA and OH area. I understand the engine to be a rebuilt original to the car item which has been upgraded with 12 volt ignition, headers, dual exhaust and a Mallory distributor. Transmission is a 1950 Ford truck 3-speed open drive to a 8" Maverick rear axle. That axle is suspended on a Chassis Engineering parallel leaf system. CE also supplied the 4" dropped front axle, dropped steering arms, split wishbone kit and the transmission crossmember kit. Front brakes are GM metric disc, rear are the Maverick drums with a dual master powering the system. I understand the brightwork was all new at the time of the build and it looks it. From underneath I can see that the floors have been replaced very well with original style panels and there is a small patch on the inner layer of the rear passenger side frame rail. Wiring was all new at build time with a fuse panel under the dash easily accessible. Gauges are the Classic panel made for the 40 Ford and there is a Kenwood stereo in the glove box with a remote. Wipers are now 12 volt electric, speedo is Classic GPS and there is a third brake light in the rear window. As can be seen the upholstery is very nice as are the rugs and the trunk is upholstered also. Radiator is a Brice Thomas aluminum unit with an electric fan controlled by both a sender in the head and a toggle switch on the dash. Wheels are very nice AR chrome Torque Thrust 15" in a small Ford pattern with absolutely no curb rash. Tires appear to be close to new. Fuel tank is a poly unit and there are functional fog lights on the bumper. All glass is good and lightly tinted. The frame and complete underside is nicely painted with a satin finish paint such as Rustoleum or POR15 and it looks to me that this was a frame-off build. The car starts, runs, drives and stops like it should but it was last registered in 2017 and was used little before that so changing the fuel and possibly a flush might not be a bad idea as I have no idea how old the fuel is in the tank. Fortunately there is not a lot left. This 40 was a trade-in on a very nice 32 that I sold so it is not currently registered for the road. The title is a clean Ohio title and a bill of sale will also be provided. This car is almost 80 years old so there is no warranty whatsoever and due to the lack of much use in at least the last four years I would suggest a trailer for transport. As always, absolutely no test pilots. I have lift here at the shop and will put the car on it for a serious potential buyer. Please, no low ball offers as that will just annoy me. Not looking for trades but always willing to listen(Vintage hot rods, corvettes, race cars, aircraft or motorcycles in particular). Thanks
