This Shelby has been In Houston Texas its whole life. It now resides here in Oklahoma. The car was born with a C6 auto Transmission. Sometime in its earlylife the c6 was replaced with a correct top loader four speed. The 428 Runs as new and the 4 speed shifts as it should.
From the buck tag I discovered with the help from Pete at, thecoralsnake.com that this Shelby is one of 4 cars to come with an AM/FM radio and itsalso a special color car. This car has dealer installed under dash air conditioning. There is documentation from 1968 that states the shelby corporationsent a 209.00 check to the Ford dealer to modify the console for the under dashac unit.
The Shelby Production number is 02848.
We have the Marty Report. The top is original and has only one tear. The original back glass is in the top. I have approx 100 pictures of the car from underneath up above and inside. I noticed only surface rust while I was taking pictures. I saw no signs of itever having a rust hole or even any bubbling under the paint. I am pretty sure the car has had a little paint work ( a little overspray) or maybe it was Shelby being sloppy when the car was new. We have documents and photos and going back to the late 1960's. The car has not been restored. You can be certain this car has not been passed around from person to person witheach one adding their special touch. It is probably the closest car you will find to original.
This Shelby has been a one owner car since 1968 and today resides in a new climatecontrolled building and is still in the original owners family.
