1964 Ford Mustang

If you truly know what this car is and are a true Mustang historian this is the lowest production Mustang convertible every built. The exact numbers are not know but it is between 60 and 100, far less than any Shelby. I had the pleasure of restoring an exact duplicate of this car for my father around 25 years ago. It is now owned by my brother since my father has passed on. That is where I got a real education of K Mustangs along with a local Shelby restorer who literally did the restoration of my Dads car. When the opportunity came along to own another one just like with the majority of the driveline here I could not resist. I will tell you what I know about the car.
It was owned by a gentlemen from Iowa who purchased the car new in Iowa but had the car stolen in the early 1980's. He purchased the car back from the insurance company that found the car around 15 years later but it had been stripped. He started finding the parts with the intention to restore the car back to original glory. As you can tell from the pictures this is not your regular Mustang loaded with rust repair. It is an original car that has original paint still on it and with the exception of the drivers quarter taken off by his son hitting the car with his bike while the car was stored in his building. There has never been any body work done or welding done anywhere. Two nice used ford doors and fenders were found. The car has the correct 64 1/2 hood and headlite buckets with the special angle in them. It has the correct 9 inch rear end, convertible frame, all stainless really nice shape. Car has correct early 65 block, jan 65 dated correct hi po head, exhaust manifords, valves, nos ford rings in packages. Does not have k carb, has dual point distributor. Has big pully pully on generator.Yes it is an extensive project but with such little rust repair should not be that ba, but you are finished you have a 100,000 car. That is what my dads car was appraised for in 1994. Quarter has original paint and rust free, along with the trunk floor. Check out picture of vin number which is stamped in all three correct places. Check out picture of front cross member with K marking from the assembly line. How cool is that!!!Please ask questions I know alot of these cars. There are tons of original parts, lots of extras convertible glass is all there, seats back seat convertible parts instrument bezel, radio, brakes wheels. Shipping I can assist at new owners expense. This is not a fire sale I have too many other irons in the fire. Will sell now for the right price. Since the car was a theft recovery it has a salvage title, but as you can tell was never in an accident. I don't know how that washes in other states
