Although 1973 was the final year for the classic Mustang many consider it the very best.
The big body agile pony cars quickly became a fan favorite once consumers realized the next model would change drastically.
This particular vintage Ford has truly been cherished & pampered. As a matter of fact it is a solid three owner vehicle! Please allow me to give a hand full of details regarding it & the reason you should consider adding it to your collection.

First off this unique Mustang was delivered to Metro Ford in Madison Wisconsin. The dealership was well respected for unleashing quite a few specialty muscle machines during the 60's/70's era.
Norm Nelson (who was heavily involved with the USAC stock car races in Milwaukee) is said to have ordered this car. The vehicle however didn't see any time at the race track it would rather be utilized for family outings.
Unfortunately there's not a great deal of historical data that reveals exactly what the first decade looked like for this stallion.
All things being equal, we do know that sometime in the late eighties the torch was passed to a new owner.
Thankfully the vehicle stayed in its native Midwestern state. The second owner was also loyal to the Ford Brand.A newly purchased 1987 GT convertible shared garage space with this 73 model until it was slated for restoration.
Although I can't give a play by play regarding the entire process there no doubt a grand effort was put forth to it respectable.
The brilliant blue exterior is laced matte black accents that command attention whenever the car cover is removed!
It's been a few years since the Mustang received the makeover. That being said the paint quality is still admirable. The newly selected color that keeps everyone's attention comes from a 2014 Shelby Mustang (Grabber Blue)! The exact tint is hard to describe in essence. A hint of pearl metallic was added so it carries a cyan electric hue at dusk.
The contour of the body is commendable.
Each panel is honorable and free from amateur defects.
Leading the way up front is Ford's iconic N.A.S.A hood with a set of nostalgic stainless twist locks!
Perfectly situated underneath is a bold race ready front chin spoiler. The deck lid sports a rear wing that also helps to enhance the exterior appearance package!
Many aggressive attributes make this car a fan favorite.
Each fender has a sharp set of matte black hockey stripes and MACH 1 badges "perfect touchâ€!
A well protected Raven black honeycomb style tail panel and new gas cap can be found at the rear.
New grille moldings were installed to christen the restoration as a job well done.
It is near impossible to describe this Mustang without mentioning the pellucid white convertible top that shields her.
The contrast provided against the blue exterior is truly amazing!
Many enthusiasts overlook the need to service the top pump, cylinders & lines regularly. There's no need to worry with this one it has been maintained properly & lowers in perfect fashion. A pristine convertible parade boot is included.
The door glass and front windshield are crystal clear along with the rear curtain.
All lights & signal markers spring to life on command. The rear bumper has been replaced with an N.O.S. quality component.
At the end of the day this vintage Mustang is ready to can be fully enjoyed!
She looks great, runs strong & garners praise every time it hits the road! Let's take a final look:
SHOW OR GO!
Now that we have covered the bases concerning the exterior let's see what she has to offer inside!
This model came equipped with a standard interior. Although it could be deemed pedestrian in nature the inside is perfectly suited to the exterior.
Once the door is opened you can't miss the fact it's donned with oxford white upholstery & high back buckets.
Both seats (front and rear) are in great shape and void of excessive wear or damage.
The door panels still look appealing and ready for another 46 years of usage.
Front & center you will find factory gauges and a flawless steering wheel!
To top things off a set of BRILLIANT BLUE pony floor mats were added to safeguard the loop pile carpet.
The quarter trim is in superb condition and both rear windows are on track.
In closing I would call the overall interior condition nice and presentable.
Now....... once you say the word classic Mustang "everyone wants to know" what's underneath the hoodâ€!
This particular blue oval product was fortunate enough to leave Fords assembly plant with the revered 351 power plant!
The H Code block is held in high esteem by almost every collector involved with the hobby.
Better yet the factory engine has only had to endure a little bit over 99k miles of usage!
Being stored for well over decade makes this Mustang special and very dependable!
The block was actually completely overhauled for performance approximately eight years ago.
Dyno testing numbers were extremely impressive at Craven Performance!
Horse power is exceptional & torque ratio values are very respectable!
The motor was reconstructed to earn its just due on the streets.
A 3.98 stroke crank was added along with eagle connecting rods for an added punch (thrilling)!!!
It maintains a nice consistent idle upon ignition. Many factory watermark decals can still be found in the designated areas.
Up top and eager to run full throttle is an nice carburetor and high volume fuel pump.
Preventative maintenance has been addressed by the aid of new performance plugs, wires, distributor, water pump, fuel filter, battery, thermostat, coil, alternator, starter, voltage regulator, etc.
Chambered performance mufflers have been installed underneath with dumped dual exhaust "sounds incredibleâ€!
TAKE A LISTEN!
In most Ford guys opinion no wheel works better on the big body cars than the race ready Magnum 500!
We refused to buck the trend so a flawless set of 15 inch rims have been incorporated on this model.New raised white letter performance tires hug the rims appropriately!
Handling is also optimal as the suspension has received a clean bill of health "road worthyâ€!
Again this vehicle is ready to be enjoyed fully! The time, resources and care that have been given through the years can't properly be measured "rare opportunityâ€!
Here's yet more good news "she's solid underneathâ€! Great floors, torque boxes & frame rails.
