Custom Weiand V8 Auto Classic Vintage Collector C4 MSD Windsor Wilwood Holley Re
1980 Ford Other Wagon Pro Street
You stopped to look at this 1980 Ford Pinto Wagon for the same reason why we are all attracted to it. That big scoop in the hood tells us all this is no ordinary grocery-getter. Instead this is a dual-quad V8 machine that was given just the right amount of tameness to take it off the track and enjoy it on the road. While a small/lightweight car makes for an awesome performance build, the true key to this... one is all its retro-cool attitude that goes with the asphalt-eating power. The burgundy metallic paint has a nice appearance, and the Pinto even has some nice curves for a sporty appeal. But we all know your favorite part is the wood-like paneling that is as much a part of the classic wagon road trip as screaming "Are we there yet?" That classic family car look sets this up for an ultra-cool contrast with the solid racing wheels, matte hood stripes, and that huge air grabber sticking out of the top that tells you this one wasn't built for the school run. In fact, this one was custom built to be a racer, and then there was a nice investment to bring it back to a street machine (and we have $13k+ in receipts to prove it.) Inside is more of that retro-cool vibe with a velvet-like velour on the two-tone bucket seats and matching door panels. Sure, that's cool to show off, but this is also a serious competition machine. You see that in the six-point roll cage racing harnesses, fuel cell, and AutoMeter gauges w/large tach. Plus, the wood-rimmed sports steering wheel and TCI ratchet shifter are just where your hands want to rest. The hood lifts nice and high for everyone to get a good look inside. After all, this might be a monster motor, but it has such a sweet look with the ribbed Edelbrock valve covers that coordinate with the beastly air grabber on the hood. This is a 289 cubic-inch V8 built with 351W heads, a massive Weiand hi-rise intake, and dual Holley four-barrel carburetors on top. You even have nice supporting components like an MSD ignition and aluminum radiator w/large electric fan. Plus, those custom headers add even more power while contributing to the thunder of the H-pipe dual exhaust w/glasspacks. This is a powerful total package, and so you need the right components to get the power to the pavement. That means a stout C4 three-speed automatic transmission, Currie 9-inch rear, and traction bars. Plus, stopping power is well in-hand thanks to a Wilwood four-wheel disc brake upgrade. This is a serious power machine that also has an unforgettable look. So when it's all available for such a nice price, you know you want to hurry up and call today!
