Exterior Highlights:

The exterior of the car is flat out stunning, the vehicle features very high quality and very high gloss original trim tag correct color (V) Chestnut Iridescent mirror finish paint on a body that is perfectly straight thanks to all original sheet metal.The oodles of chrome and all polished stainless on the car is in fantastic condition.The white vinyl convertible top is like new and is power operated and operates as it should, in fact everything we have tried on this vehicle works like it should with the exception of the clock, all the small details that are usually overlooked were not on this one.The vehicle is equipped with a set of polished aluminum American Racing torque thrust wheels that give the car a very sporty look. The exterior is loaded with the detail that is reminiscent of the time, the long body lines are set off by artwork like light housings and very detailed bright work, the vehicle has all it's original 500XL badging that appears new. This vehicle could sit in front of the most exclusive country club in the country and get more attention than anything there.The color combination is very sharp.All lights and lenses are crack free, very bright, and are in good working order. The exterior of the car is very fresh looking and is very impressive. All of the attention to detail has been taken care of on this vehicle. If you have read our listings before you know that we are quite conservative in our assessments, we can not say enough about how nice this car is.

Interior Highlights:

The interior of the car is as nice as the exterior and it is all original. The vehicle features very comfortable medium chestnut bucket seats that virtually perfect, as well as a couch like rear bench seat that is also in unbelievable original condition. The vehicle has a functional factory gauge package in the well styled art like dash that is as the rest of the car in excellent shape, the vehicle is also equipped with a steering wheel mounted tachometer. The door panels, on this vehicle are outrageous, they are in perfect shape with unbelievable factory detail, the stitching is awesome, all the handles and trim are perfect, the lights are very cool and work on both sides as do all the interior lights it appears, very few cars we come across have all the details covered like this one. The vehicle is equipped with an AM/FM radio with the very cool center rear speaker that also has the XL insignia on it as it should. The trunk of the car is very clean and solid and comes with a spare tire and jack, as the pictures show the trunk is excellent. The dash on the car does have some cracking that does not stand out and would not be worth replacing due to the originality of the interior.Overall, as the pictures indicate, the interior of the car is excellent and really gives the car a crisp and fresh appearance.

Mechanical Highlights:

Mechanically this car is impressive with some modifications to it's original 352 V8 motor that has now been bored to a 390 cubic inch V8 that has superior performance.The engine has an aluminum Offenhauser 2 - 4 Barrel Carburetor set up with Carter competition series carburetors that is tuned properly and runs and performs like it should.The vehicle has a mild competition cam and hydraulic lifters, the engine was bored and balanced and has 390 rods and crank.This vehicle is a joy to drive with plenty of power and a smooth shifting automatic transmission that sends you down the highway with a smile.The engine bay of the vehicle is extremely clean and show quality.The vehicle has had a recent upgrade to the brake system with new power front disk brakes and new drum brakes in 2019.The vehicle starts, runs, drives, and stops without issue.
