1956 Ford Thunderbird --

Up for auction is my highly original 1956 Ford Thunderbird. This T Bird has 65,096 actual miles. I have a title dated July 14, 1999, with 65,075 actual miles. This car has been in storage since, down here in Florida. Originally finished in Code A, raven black, this bird experience a color change sometime along the way. This bird is pretty well-equipped. It will include the original hardtop, a white soft top which is in great shape, power steering, automatic... transmission, power windows, and a functional power seat. This car does run and move, however it will need some engine work. The 312 engine has 3 cylinders that had bent pushrods, I quit chasing after that. I did order some new pushrods and they will be included in the sale. Not sure if the lifters will need to be changed, but I will say it will need some engine work. it does run good enough to loaded up on a trailer. The brakes work when they are pumped up. The fuel pump has a small leak when it runs. I am currently starting this car by jumping the solenoid, I believe the neutral safety switch needs to either be adjusted or replaced. The paint is in pretty good shape, no major body defects to speak of. There are a series of scratches and dings throughout the car, which I’ve done a good job of photographing. The bumpers are in pretty good shape, no major dents or rust minus the one bumper guard which I photographed some surface rust on. Lab cabs are shiny, but have dings. The tires will also need to be replaced. The interior is pretty much complete minus the radio. The driver door opens and closes very nicely. The passenger door sticks out a little bit at the bottom. The driver power window operates in one position, but not the other. I’m sure the motor needs to be replaced. Driver door glass is also cracked. The power seat is functional. The undercarriage is in fair shape, obviously it was under coded at one time. There are some floor braces that could use some repairs. The frame appears to be solid. It does have a new gas tank. Outer rocker panels are in good shape. Without a question, this T Bird is in need of an entire restoration. It is an excellent original condition, it’s really an unmolested car that could mechanically be brought to a level to be a driver. Please ask any questions and feel free to come inspect. I will consider trades for other vintage cars
