Description:

1960 Ford Thunderbird

1960 Thunderbird, clear title. Runs, drives great - no problems. I wanted to toughen up my Tbird, so it has a nice stance and looks more like a hotrod than a white-walled granny car. Includes provenance/receipts dating back to 1983. Over $20k invested including the vehicle purchase, over $9k just in the engine. Repairs/upgrades/work performed disclosed below has an actual receipt from work performed by professional mechanics/painters:
ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN: Rebuilt 390 with Cruise-o-Matic transmission. Approximately 500 miles on new engine. Engine features new aluminum heads, new Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, new 4BBL Edelbrock carb, new PerTronix Ignition distributor, new starter, new PerTronix Flame-Thrower II Ignition Coil, new Spectre oilpan, new fuel pump, new Optima battery, new Powermaster PowerGEN Alternator, braided wire, and Flowmaster Super 44 dual exhaust. Thunderbirds are notorious for overheating, so I paid special attention to that when I had the engine rebuilt: added a radiator shroud, cleaned the radiator and installed aluminum heads - drives great, sounds gnarly, runs pretty sweet and doesn't overheat. She runs a little cold at first, but idles fine while warming up.
New shocks, new Hankook tires on 15x8 Cragars with barely 600 miles on them, so they are virtually brand new. Two Cragars are new, two are used, with some minor pitting. Brakes are fine, as I had them checked when shocks/tires were installed.
EXTERIOR: New weatherstripping for doors and trunklid when painted in 2017. Two-stage Paint job specifications: PPG MPC 9300 basecoat with SEM World Class clearcoat (receipt included). A few issues with the paint/body as can be seen in the photos, but no dents scratches. There is an issue of a crack on the rear fender, some rust bubbling on the lip of the roof and hood (see pictures, a little hard to see). Exterior chrome is complete and looks good. Some spider-webbing on chrome, but it's not pitted much (I can provide a few additional photos via Ebay Message - I am limited to only 24 photos on Ebay).
Original fender skirts are included (but not painted black as I forgot all about them when I got the car painted).
Headlights, taillights, turn signals (outside and on dash) and back-up lights all light up and work as they should.
GLASS: Automatic windows are in good shape, driver's and passenger's windows come down, but the back seat windows do not. Windshield has a crack traveling across it. Wing windows open and close. Side mirrors are pitted and can be moved manually only. Back window is normal. Glass shows typical wear for it's age. Windows have a 20% tint on them, installed professionally.
INTERIOR: Interior is original, and was well-protected from the sun. Everything has a nice, deep teal color to it with some dark discoloration due to age - but no fading. All interior chrome is intact, some age wear, but it shines and looks great! It's got a few popped stitches in the seats, but nothing unsightly. The door panels have some wear to them (as shown) but it's all original. Heater works, lighter works, vents work, hood release works, radio does not work. I tried to figure out the vacuum-assisted wipers (as well as two other mechanics) and I could not get them to actuate (the electrical works, because the wipers move about 2" then give up - pretty sure it's a vacuum issue). Seats fold over for access to the back seat as normal. This vehicle is not equipped with seat belts. The power seats both work, move forward and back. Dome light works. Headliner is in good shape, not sagging, all stitching is intact and it appears as it should - there is a 1" hole in the headliner by the driver's side. I can send a photo of the headliner and functioning dome light. (I am limited to only 24 photos on Ebay)
Dash gauges work with the exception of the clock. Dash gauge lights do not turn on when headlights come on, but generator/ignition dash lights work.
TRUNK: Trunk has been sprayed with rust inhibitor, there are a couple holes in the trunk (see pictures). Trunk lid has had new weatherstripping installed. Closes nice. No spare tire.
UNDERSIDE/FRAME: Frame rails are clear of rust, as is with the floor pans. Passenger side wheel well shows rust problems but has been abated with rust inhibitor/undercoating. The driver's side wheel well does not have this issue. I have visually checked this myself, and can provide photos via Ebay Message (I am limited to only 24 photos on Ebay).
WHY I'M SELLING IT: I try to drive this car at least once a week, but my job tends to keep me busy (and that's not going to change), so I don't get to cruise it as much as I'd hoped. It's been a fun project, but it's time to move on to other stuff. I bought this car in 2016 and addressed anything that came up. I have not done front end work because it looked satisfactory when I put on the new tires/rims. I have not done any transmission work because the vehicle shifts fine. I can't say I know everything about the car, but I can say that I have always taken care of my vehicles, and I have a lot of pride in this one - I made sure that when things came up, I had professional mechanics work on it. She's got it where it counts.
I HAVE ACCESS TO THE CAR, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/PHOTOS - It's super easy for me to get photos by the next day of your request.
