Maverick Grabber, true X code, No Reserve

Price: - Item location: Mason, Illinois, United States
Description:

1971 Ford Grabber

This is a true "X" code Grabber, originally in Grabber Lime Green with a 302 V8 and auto trans. The engine was replaced with a very spirited 351 V8- Windsor. This 351 was originally a 250 hp engine, now over 330 horsepower. To say the least this car is pretty fast, should not be purchasedas a first car for a teenager. This car is licensed and being driven on a regular basis by me between my other cars.

The lines are very similar to my Boss, but at much less expense. I just have too many cars and want others to enjoy them as much as I have. I haven't done any of the body work, but the Grabber will not need major rust repair. I was going to replace the drivers door (not original) as it has rust at the bottom seam and the front lip on the hood (flat 1" across the front). Pulled driver's door panel to check rust on door. Other areas look like pretty simple repairs, not requiring full patch panels.

All glass is good and in working order. I had the gas tank cleaned and professionally sealed (have receipts) andinstalled with newfloat and hoses. New brakes, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder replaced, including emergency brake cables. New dual exhaustfront to the back and this car sounds awesome, really a deep throaty sound. Has new tires on magnum 500 rims, including a spare magnum 500 spare rim ( do have the other two center caps). New Interstate battery, fan belt, fuel pump and lines, and sparkplugs. Carb was just rebuilt with new kit, new hoses, and filter. Ladder bars were removed for painting, but are included and it does have air shocks in the rear. Have the radio panel also.

This Grabber is fun to drive even without power steering, power brakes, and of course no air conditioner. But roll down the windows, open the fresh air vents and listen to the pipes and try to get the smile off of your face. Draws a lot of attention wherever it goes as you just do not see many of these anymore, especially one that sounds like this one.
