GM ZZ 502 deluxe with roller rockers and 1 inch carb. spacer, custom built ceramic coated headers with 2" primaries and 3.5 collectors connecting to 3.5 ceramic coated pipes, 3.5 Dynomax mufflers, 400 turbo rebuilt with all B&M parts, GM L88 torque converter, Narrowed 9 inch ford with all new internals..4:11 and strange axles, Chassis engineering ladder bars with over housing panhard control, Unisteer rack and pinion and steers like power steering, 4 wheel disc brakes.
The frame is fabricated from 2x4 heavy wall with a pinched nose to the to accept a heidts independent front end if you wish. Having other street rods that had dangerous frame flex under hard throttle with a fiberglass body I decided to have this one built not to flex. It drives as straight as can be and you can take hands off wheel. Under power it has the feeling of rock solid. Taking off using half throttle carefully not to spin the tires a passenger timed it to be under 2 seconds 0-60. I have not opened it up yet for the break in period.
The body has had the firewall 34 ford hump removed so to keep the stock wheelbase and will accept a stock length hood, top chopped 3", channeled 3", 3 " mini tub to keep the front tires centered to the over 13" wide rear tires. Factory tinted legal bronze windows all around. Windshield tilted back a little from stock to give a faster look.
For the little I have driven this car I have had so much fun, I took it to Dennys and families took pictures of their children in front of it. Thumbs up everywhere. A friend pulled up next to me at the gas station with a new 1600 mile ZR1 corvette and people gathered around my car taking pictures and no one even looked at his car..He was ticked> Everywhere I drive people stop what there doing just to look. Temp. stays at 189 deg. no matter what and the inside smells like a new car. The only downfall is that at about 1300 rpm it gets a "harmonic" exhaust vibration that is loud enough that it broke a window in my garage, below or above that rpm the harmonic is gone. The paint has not been buffed yet because the plan was to add life like skull flames and reclear 1 more time but my painter moved away. It has 4 coats of viper red and 4 coats of clear and is very acceptable with a lot of compliments.
I built this car being old school. I wanted fast, mean and reliable, being 63 and 6'1" 220 lbs I fit comfortable driving. I am a retired life long GM tech.If your looking for a trailer queen car with A/C with comfort zones and rides like a caddy this might not be for you, but if you like a true hot rod that will make your passenger pee their pants reliably day after day while watching a movie from the 2 din stereo this might be it.
I do not want to sell this car for it might be my last and is my dream car but my young daughter has very large medical bills because she regressed horribly with a infection and neurological disease so its the house or the car has to go.. I'll start with the car so I hope I get enough to help.
