1972 Ford Mustang Grande

The mid-seventies Mustangs are gaining in popularity. This '72 is looking long and lean in a great looking color that grabs your attention sitting on a sweet set of Shelby Elanor style wheels. Check it out. Technically still a first-generation Mustang but with the restyle for the early 70s cars that was pretty dramatically wider and longer in order to make room for more and bigger engine options. The vinyl roof on this one looks great with... the Teal colored paint that adds to the long and low effect even further. A tan pinstripe highlights the upper body line and side molding runs down the beltline. The font of the hood curves down toward the iconic grill with the galloping Pony in the center. It is trimmed in chrome with a sharp looking chrome bumper underlining it. The front fenders still have the sharp upper edge that arches over and down to the grill along with a fenderwell lip that flares out and is trimmed in chrome. The sail panel flows gracefully onto the trunk and the back end is highlighted with another pinstripe and has those iconic triple taillights underlined by another chrome bumper. Open the door and you will be greeted by a nice two-tone door panel that sets the theme for the interior. It is Tan vinyl with a brown wood grained insert edged by thin chrome piping. Have a seat in the high-backed bucket with tan cloth insert and brown vinyl trim and reach out for the beefy three-spoke steering wheel that is comfortable and offers a good grip for spirited driving. A T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission is in the center console and falls naturally to hand. The dash is all original and stock with a center console that is trimmed in wood grain. There is a plaque indicating this is the Grande model with a galloping Mustang over an AM/FM/Cassette player. The ventilation controls are just below that which include those for the A/C system to keep you cool on hot summer days. A center console provides some nice storage and a comfortable armrest while cruising. Pop the hood and you will find a 351 Cleveland engine nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay that appears all stock and original with signs of good regular maintenance. This car was built and delivered with a 351 new, as is noted on the Marti report that was run on this car, and it's believed to be the original motor. It has the original blue air filter assembly with a sticker indicating the 351 2-barrel carburetor which is still the original Motorcraft 2-barrel carb, and appears to have been rebuilt recently along with the factory air conditioning compressor. There are newer belts and hoses throughout. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic to the rear end mounted on leaf springs, and the front-end rides on coils springs with ventilated front disc brakes to assure good braking ability. The rubber meets the road thorough 245/45ZR17s all around mounted on those sweet looking Shelby Elinor wheels. This is a super sharp looking Mustang with a 351 Cleveland riding on some super trick wheels. Come on down and check it out. You may decide to become one of the growing number of mid-seventies Mustang fans.
