The Eleanor body kit was installed in 2013. The aggressive front end starts with fiberglass bumpers and a mean looking fiberglass hood. The deck lid and rear bumper are also fiberglass, which definitely reduces the weight of the car. It's all topped with the signature black racing stripes from nose to tail. The pepper gray metallic and black racing stripes were laid down in 2014. The GT500 side stripes made the paint and body a wrap. This car is straight. New headlights, fog lights, running lights, Shelby style LED tail lights, billet grilles, bullet-style mirrors, door handles, wiper arms, locks, GT 500 emblems, pop open gas cap, windshield, window moldings, etc. It's all new.ENGINERemove the hood pins and lift the hood, you're going to be staring at 347 cubic inches of pure AMERICAN MUSCLE! The original 289 engine was stroked and rebuilt using top of the line parts. Probe pistons, Sealed Power moly rings, I-beam rods, ARP bolts, Comp Cams performance camshaft, Fel-Pro gaskets, etc. It can handle a pounding. Her Holley 770 Street Avenger carburetor gets as much fuel as it needs from the Holley Electric fuel pump. The Edelbrock AIR GAP intake sits above the AFR 185 aluminum racing heads, fitted with a 1:6 ratio aluminum rocker system. These components are all joined using high-quality Fel-Pro gaskets. The Shelby-branded valve covers and Cobra oval air cleaner add the finishing touches. MSD 6AL ignition, MSD Coil Blaster, Pro Comp distributor and beefy Ford plug wires keep the plugs hot and never missing a beat. Hooker long-tube headers flow into the custom exhaust and believe me, it sounds MEAN! The aluminum radiator keeps this POWERHOUSE from overheating and just for good measure, we have a Hayden 17" flex fan in front of the new water pump and Cloyes timing chain and sprockets.DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSIONUnderneath this Sally, there is not an ounce of rust, it has been completely stripped and refinished. Behind 347 cubic inches of 'MERICA sits a hydraulic Stage 3 King Cobra clutch. It has no problem engaging the beefy Ford T-5 5-speed. The T-5 hooks up to a freshly cut and balanced drive shaft that's threaded to a bulletproof 9 inch Ford axle. Up front, you'll find that she brakes nicely using disc brakes that are supplied by the master cylinder and power brake booster. You can let go of the wheel, wave at the people taking pictures of your car, and be confident that her POWER STEERING will hold the road!INTERIOROpen the doors and you'll find a fully restored cockpit that mixes the best elements of Ford's Black vinyl interior with many stylish and functional upgrades. Hi-back bucket seats with 4 -point safety harnesses. In front of those seats, you will find that the entire dash has been restored. A new compact radio fits nicely in the vintage radio's location! Below that dash, a nice center console will hold your cold drink and cell phone. A fire extinguisher fits great between the driver seat and console. The floors are occupied by new carpet, sitting on sound deadener. Above the carpet, you will find a new brake, clutch, and gas pedals. At the sides of that carpet, the door panels feature comfy armrests and bright chrome handles. In front of the driver, a polished and wood-rimmed steering wheel laps the column. And behind the passengers, 2 Pioneer 6x9's keep the music loud. Beneath the Pioneers, you have a clean cargo hold that keeps the cars battery safe in its new location! The bad - small issues with the bodywork and a minor rear main (might just be the oil pan?) and pinion seal leak. It's been adult owned and driven. It's a must see and drive as well! Come see for yourself and I'm sure you'll agree that you won't find another one in this condition for the price I'm asking! *This 1968 Ford Mustang is located in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
