1963 T-bird Convertible
1963 Ford Thunderbird
I bought the car in April 2007 while I still lived in California. It moved to Oregon in 2017 and has been garaged since I bought it. The car had 82,522 miles when Igot it. Current miles are 86,767. It was mainly taken to shows, driven around town by my wife, and out for restorations. Very smooth ride.
I insisted on this car when we bought it. It is a 1963 which has a better body style than other bullet birds, has an alternator rather than a generator, and this one has rare factory air. Additionally, it is one of the few 1963 T-birds that has the tinted blue metal interior panels that match the exterior color.
The items I restored include:
Re-upholstered car completely except the dash which has cracks by the radio speaker.
Added a seat-heater in the driver's seat while re-upholstering.
Replaced the radio with a modern transistor type - From Larry's Thunderbird parts
Rebuilt the hydraulics that lift the Top. All relays and mechanics work great now.
Professional rebuild of the engine and rodded the radiator - Schedler's Engines, Fresno.
Rebuilt the Transmission - Sam's Transmission Oakhurst Ca.
Re-chromed much of the interior and exterior parts. This includes the replacement of the rear light cans/reflectors and re-chromed the rear bumper assembly.
Re-painted a few panels as needed.
Replaced the following; starter, break master cylinder, coil, points (Pertronic) and plugs, clock, belts and hoses, battery cables, and fuel pump.
New windshield and gaskets.
Includes a custom Ford Thunderbird logo car cover. - from California Car Cover.
Last month I replaced the carburetor with a new chromed Holley.
I have several additional parts and manuals
There are some things that remain to be done. This is the reason for the low reserve on this auction. They are:
A/C works very well, but has lost pressure while sitting in the garage.
There are a few paint chips and there is a small dent in the front bumper.
The rear window has aging and cracking.
The reason I am selling this car is that I am now in my 70's and just don't drive it very much anymore. I think it is time for some other enthusiast to enjoy it as much as we have. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to call me at 559-978-8002.
I haven't sold any of the cars in my collection for a number of years. Therefore, my Ebay feedback does not show.I have included my old reviews below.
