Description:
1967 Ford F-250 Ranger Camper Special
This project has been my labor of love for the last five years. It is an F-250 Ranger Camper Special with a matching FE352 engine and 4-wheel drive with locking hubs.I have frame-off restored this 1967 F250 Pickup.
This was originally a 2 wheel drive cruise-o-matic.I bought this immaculate 1971 Highboy undercarriage with new exhaust, shocks and brakes, and then swapped the body.
The frame is perfect, and the original body was a one-owner truck that was in excellent condition. I had a little rust in the driver side wheel well to fix, but that is it.The paint job is as pretty as it gets. This is the original engine that I have had professionally rebuilt, painted (Ford Blue) and re-bored to be an FE360. This truck has about 500 miles on the rebuilt engine. It starts beautifully, runs great.
I put a 4-barrel Holley and a new exhaust. Tires have less than 500 miles on them. New shocks, new (drum) brakes all around, new gas tank, fuel pump and fuel lines, spray in liner for the box ... it just goes on and on.
It is a 4-speed with granny low. These did not come with a power steering option in the 4-wheel drive version and I haven't taken the time to figure out a way to get one on it. I do have the restored power steering pump from the original chassis, but it would take some inventiveness to get it to work with the 4-wheel drive configuration.
The odometer is only 5 numbers (42,550), so I can't tell you the exact mileage, but it has less than 500 miles on the rebuild.Although I bought the original truck in Renton, WA about 7 years ago, I imported it to Canada and got collector plates on it. The car is parked at my warehouse in North Ferndale, WA. Should be no problem exporting it back to the US.
I have receipts for absolutely everything I've had done to the truck. As mentioned, the only rust I had to repair was in the driver's side floor board (pretty common) but otherwise the original was a one owner vehicle that was clearly loved.
I have two titles, one for the 1967 truck body and another for the 1971 highbody frame. The truck is registered for insurance as the 1967 (F25... VIN). The sale comes with both titles, all my restoration files and a number of extra parts (some stock, some aftermarket and new)
It is pretty close to perfect, but there are a small number of things you might want to do to it to make it your own: These are the original mouldings and you might want to replace with even shinier new ones; the engine bay looks good, but you could make it better; power steering would be nice; It only drips a little from time to time, but a rear axle seal would solve that (it does not leak from anywhere else); it has the original AM radio.
I can't think of anything else. It's a beauty that would make a great promotional vehicle, to show off to the neighbours or for rescuing stuck bulldozers.
Thanks for looking, I would be very pleased to answer any questions you might have.
