1929 Ford Model A DELUXE

This 1980 Shay was dormant in storage for nearly 20 years and has 4,100 TOTAL miles. New battery, fluids and other miscellaneous needs have been addressed and this Shay is NOW driven regularly. I believe this is POSSIBLY the Super Deluxe model ( there seems to be a myriadof different options determiningmodels). This one has the dual side-mount spares, plus the trunk rack and optional trunk, quail hood ornament, radiator shield, running-board step plates, door pockets and chrome headlights. The car is in very good mechanical shape, is fun to drive and gets more attention than a blonde on the beach (notice I did not specify gender!). The black interior and rumble seat are in good condition. The body and paint are very good. The top is good, no tears, there are NO side curtains. This makes a great parade car or mobile advertising for your business. Park it out front and watch the people stop or put it in your showroom for never ending traffic! Great for grand kidsin the rumble seat and drives out for a summer dinner or round of golf...the ultimate golf cart!In 1978, Ford Motor Company shared their designs and blueprints with Harry Shay and licensed him to re-manufacturethe 1929 Ford Model A Roadster as a celebration of the famous car's 50th anniversary. The cars were built in Battle Creek, MI, and sold through Ford dealerships. A total of 5,000 Shay reproductions were produced in three versions: Base, Deluxe and Super Deluxe. The coachwork was fiberglass with steel hood. These cars drew large crowds at the Ford dealerships. While authentic to a point, it is hard to distinguish a Shay Model A from the original, the drive-trainis totally modern, using the bullet-proof Ford 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that Ford installed in the Mustang, Pinto, Capri and Fairmont; with either a four-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission; front disc brakes; rack and pinion steering and other modern features that enabled this Model A Roadster to be driven as an everyday car. All of them featured that great rumble seat! The tires on this example are weather-checked but usable as they are bias tube tires. The top is serviceable. All else is very nice. I believe everything works including wipers, heater, turn signals heater fan and the AM/FM stereo cassette.Collector owned and loved. The current market range on a standard Shay, in good condition, is $13k to $16K.Clean title in hand.I invite your inspection. 509-592-6764 Greg classicphillips66 . com
