HIGHBOY -- 1970 FORD F250 4X4 18,200 Documented original miles.
This truck was sold new to AEP for use as a Fire Truck equipped to fight brush Fires in there eastern Ohio Strip mine operations.
In 1991 it was sold to an individual in that area (3,184 miles).
In 2006 it was sold to another individual in the same area(16,256 miles)
In 2018 I bought it out of that gentleman's BARN (18,196 miles)
Yes it's a BARN FIND and I have documentation of these transactions.
After an oil change, new battery, points, plugs, and a carb rebuild the truck starts and drives as you would expect a 18,000 mile truck should.
The cab is very solid with the only real rust damage being to the right cab corner
The cab mounts and floors are very solid.
The under hood panels ( inner fenders etc.) are very solid.
All of the bolt on panels do have rust and most will need to be replaced if you plan to restore the truck.
