Description:

1979 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger

I have for sale my 1979 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger with 103,000 miles. The Bronco was originally sold at Gateway Ford in Tulare California, I bought it a year and a half ago when out west in California and brought it back to Florida then North Carolina with me. The Bronco is a highly optioned A/C equipped XLT Ranger in one of the most desirable color schemes.I have attached the Marti Report backing this information. The attached Marti report also has a good list of all the options.

The exterior of the truck is still the same way I found it with the exception of having to paint the brown on the bottom of the body due to debris from road paving burning the paint. I have left the top of the truck patinaed as original. I have many photos per paint showing its a rusty free truck. The body is completely rust free, and in great shape with only a few minor dents. Tail gate shows some damage from years of use. See Photos. Floors are original and in good shape. The paint is thin and worn in spots, mostly on the hood and top as would be expected with a mid 70s truck. Chrome and aluminum bits are in great shape. The top has been redone and is in great shape with no fiberglass wear or cracks. It has been converted by a previous owner to small mirrors from western mirrors, there are holes doors from this, they were capped off with a blank when it was done. Doesn't look awful but it is noticeable.

The interior is in good shape overall but the front seats are torn, they have had the Indian rug covers on them since I bought the truck and I have never removed them. The carpet was replaced by the previous owner. He also sound deadened the floor under the carpet. The previous owner also did a really nice job with the stereo, it has a Retrosound radio with AUX and Bluetooth and Infinity Speakers in the Doors and Kick Panels. Dash has a few small cracks as expected. All the interior trim is still there and in good shape.

The Bronco is powered by a 351M, backed by a rebuilt C6 automatic transmission (have receipt) and NP205 transfer case. Mechanically the truck is very sound, all the drivetrain is in good condition as would be expected for the mileage. I have put over 2000 miles on it in the last year.Truck has a nice single three inch exhaust. We also rebuilt the carburetor and did a general tune up for the same reason but did not need to replace any major pieces. The suspension lift was supposedly installed in the 80s, truck drives great and has been used for a number of trips. The frame is very solid and clean for its age with a little bit of surface rust, its lived most of its life out west so that shows. It has never been repainted or cleaned up to hide anything from the buyer like what happens on a significant number of these old trucks. The A/C Compressor is currently being replaced and will be reinstalled before sale. Truck will be sold on 15 Inch American Racing wheels with 35x12.5R15 BFG M/T tires pictured in last photo. The Raceline beadlocks do NOT come with the truck.

Overall this is a really nice survivor second generation Bronco. Truck has not been fully restored and is priced accordingly but would make either a great starting platform of an easy restoration, or better yet just a great driver. We have certainly enjoyed driving it over the last year or so.Prices on these trucks, will only continue to climb.
