Description:

1975 Ford E-Series Van Chateau

Up for sale is a vintage 70's Ford van. This 1975 Ford E250 van is in pretty good shape for its age and will make someone a cool 70's resto van or a good work van.

It still wares its original paint and is relatively straight for its age. For most of its life it was owned by a flooring contractor and from the looks of it on the inside, it

probably only carried carpet. No glue piles and the cool green shag carpet. The engine is a 351 Windsor backed up by a C6 transmission. The engine is dirty from age,

but runs smooth and is very responsive. It leaks some oil but doesn't smoke or burn any oil. The transmission engages and shifts perfectly. The power steering and power

brakes work great too. There are a couple of rust spots witch I included pictures of, non structural and easily repairable. The two are at each corner of the rear door jamb,

as seen in the pictures. The body overall is in great shape and still even shines up with wax. The van does need a couple of thing done to it

mechanically. It does need rear brakes and should have axel bearings done at the same time too. They make noise some of the time and I'm sure it's just an age related

problem. The other issue is the side door needs to have the upper roller bearings on the slider replaced. The door functions but hangs up so rather than continuing to

use it I've chosen not use it until It could get it fixed by a qualified shop. I put four almost new tires on it last fall and have only put a few hundred miles on them. The

interior of the van is a blank slate. The seats were recovered a year ago and are great. All the gages, wipers, and lights work. As far as driving the van, it goes down the

road straight and is very easy to drive. If you have been looking for a cool early seventy's van but have found them too far and few between, or just too thrashed from

abuse, neglect, or just worked to death, you can stop looking. This is a great starting point for your van experience. Here is a list of mechanical specs for this van.

1975 was the first year for this body style with the extended nose for more leg room and safety for drivers compartment. First year for the 351 v8 in the vans.
