1951 Ford Victoria

1951 FORD VICTORIA Street Rod History The 1949-51 Ford was an American automobile produced by Ford. It was the first all-new automobile design introduced by the Big Three after World War II, civilian production having been suspended during the war, and the 1946-1948 models from Ford, GM, and Chrysler being updates of their pre-war models. Popularly called the "Shoebox Ford" for its slab-sided design, the 1949-51 Ford is credited both with saving Ford and ushering in modern streamlined car design with changes such as integrated fenders and more . The design would continue through the 1951 model year. Why Is This Car Special The 1951 Ford Victoria Street Rod we have at Skyway Classics features a whole lot of custom work that is reminiscent of the mods that were done on it back in the fifties. Back when the car was new it was an instant hit, outselling the Chevrolet by nearly 10%. All 1951 Fords sported a new "dual-bullet" grille and heavy chrome bumpers. Mechanical Under the hood of this Ford you will find what is the essence of all hot rods, a real "Flathead Ford." It is 239 cubic inches of Ford V8 fury and has been modified with additions like a performance Holley carb, performance spark plug wires and ignition parts, chrome alternator, modified radiator, braided hoses, blower type air cleaner, and much more. It is backed by a three-speed manual transmission and rolls on white-wall tires with factory chrome wheel covers. Interior The interior of our Ford is a stock appearing blue-white design. The split bench seat is very comfortable and both it and the rear are finished out in the two tone design. The dash has both stock and aftermarket gauges, Betty Boop flor mats, custom wood floor console, there-speed shifter on the column, and even fuzzy dice. Exterior This 51 is becoming arguably one of the most favored among vintage car builders and customizers. Our Vicky is a glossy Blue and white with great chrome and trim, emblems, lights, fender cover, and a sunshade too. Completing our 1951 Ford is a rear "Continental" spare tire on bumper. Nothing says fifties custom as it does. And the winged V emblem and side Victoria and V8 emblems let everyone know that this car was and is in a class by itself. Conclusion The 1951 Ford Victoria like we have at Skyway Classics is one endless classic and street rod custom that deserves to be owned by someone who wants a car that embodies all the right stuff from back then.
