Description:
1960 Ford Thunderbird
1960 Thunderbird Convertible, T-Bird. I purchased this car in 2010 from the West Coast and it has been in dry storage since purchase. The previous owner replaced the gas tank, tires, top, upholstery, brakes, carpet and floor insulation prior to my purchase. It was an estate purchase in process of being restored when the owner was forced to sell. I do not have the money due to medial expenses or the time to do anything with the car so it is time for someone else to enjoy. I have not licensed or driven this car. The motor runs great, no smoke or weird noise, Brakes work but are touchy. Transmission shifts into drive and reverse without hesitation. Has Power Windows. Passenger side windows, Power driver seat, and Radio do not work I don't know why they have not been checked. Power top and trunk cylinders are disconnected. Included are two New Top Lift Cylinders and Two Deck Lid Lift Cylinders. Included is a new heater core. The top and window weather stripping was removed by previous owner and included if you want to reuse it. The body is basically rust free and very solid with one area behind the right door shown in the photos with rust underneath and some bubbling in the paint in front of the rear wheel. Some paint is peeling as shown in different places. It looks like the car may have originally been white. There are chips and nicks in the paint as shown. Chrome should clean up nicely for a driver. The seat upholstery is nice, could use cleaning. The back of the passenger seat needs to be re-stretched and the back cover put back on. See photos. Things I know that are missing: The motor for the panel that attaches to the deck lid when the top is down; horn ring; right side inside door handle, Hood latch knob. There may be other small items I don't know of. The trunk floor is solid. The spare tire well is solid. Mufflers and exhaust are quiet. No broken glass but there is a small rock chip in the windshield on the right side. Shown in the photo. The car has been kept started through the time I have owned it. There is a small oil leak in the front of the engine, it is a Ford. Power steering works as it should. Battery box is not rusted. Keep in mind the car has not been on the road in over 10 years and therefore needs to be thoroughly checked and transported. I have provided as much as I know. There is absolutely no warranty, return or refund of any kind. If you have a question ask before bidding. Inspections by appointment prior to the end of the auction. I require a $1000 deposit through pay pal within 24 hours and full payment by wire transfer in 7 days. Car is stored inside and safe but I would like it removed within 3 weeks if possible. Once you own it you are fully responsible for the car. I have a clear Florida title in my name. Car and paperwork remain with me until full payment has been received. The car will drive onto your trailer or transport. Currently I have been running it from a can. The gas in the tank is questionable at best and I don't want to risk running it through the carburetor. Buyer is responsible for all transportation cost and scheduling the car to be picked up. Keep in mind the car is not restored and needs a full restoration.Vehicle Details:
