Description:
1990 Ford Bronco II xlt
I bought this truck from a dealer not running. The title says it has only 76123 miles but" it exceeds it exceeds it's limits" is the brand due to no 6th digit or proof of mileage may be. They had no history on it--auction car. Ithad been sitting for years probably. I just replaced the fuel tank and fuel pumpand it now runs and YARD DRIVES but the engine smokes badly but it is quiet and looks like it may be missing but looks like maybe only one cylinder is missing--in myopinion only. The cylinder that is low also looked like the plug may have been threaded in partially crooked but I can't verfiythat so it is being sold as needing an engine NOT JUST ENGINE WORK> IT WILL PROBABLY NEED ANEW OR DIFFERENT ENGINE.It is a great candidate for a 4.0 v6 or even a v8 conversion There was very low compression in the passenger side rear cylinder and that is all I needed to see and one of the only 2 cylinders (the other was 140ish) I checked.I'd rather not get involved with a engine replacement or top end rebuild because I am old and I don't have the right tools or resources to do this with any ease. I am hoping a 4x4 Ford guy/mechanic is out there and has been looking for this or one like this to build a bad boy little truck. It is an excellent solid starting point and I will fix it and make it what is capable of being if I don't get it sold here regardless of what I am capable of right now.I am a mechanic myself but like I said older and not as motivated as I was when I was younger even with the potential here. This is also a rare example of the Bronco 2 because 1990 was the last year and only year of the heavier duty front 35 Dana axle and it is also a 5 speed with the XLT power options package, although I don't know what does or doesn't work,I do know the passenger side window does NOT work and the door does not openon the passenger side either but because the panel is off it should be possible to open with some eyeballing. The driver side window may have problems but does have some movement. The ac isn't working and I don't know about the cruise obviously. The passenger side door panel is in the back of the truck and the front seats may not be bolted down or bolted down correctly but are not too bad offin condition as seen in the pictures. The wheels are aluminum 15 inch Weld wheels and the tires have near new tread but 2 of them have cracks where I think they were sitting on the groundor pavement for years. I spread windshield heavy duty glue in the cracks but they will probably need to be replaced to get through an inspectionand to be safer. It will probably need a front wheel alignment also. The front wheels dontlook quite straight when facing forward. One of the wheels looks an inch or so out but the lift and suspension looks pretty well done and high endish.. The body has a few minordent, surface and undercarriage surface rust andpotential very minor holes in a few spots if the rust were to be hammered on underneath and a couple of rust holes as seen in the back of the quarter panels but there is no structural rot anywhere and no undercoating that could be hiding something. The paint might be original but I can't guarantee that. There is no spare tire.
