1960's Era T Bucket Project 1923 Ford
Really cool late 60's early 70's era T Bucket project with all the right parts. Purchased from the original owner's nephew. According to the nephew it was built in the late 60's by Freddy Courtney who owned Freddy's Speed Shop in Apple Valley CA. Freddy built and drag raced similar T's but the nephew said this one was never finished.
It has an original steel Model T roadster body with a shortened A or T bed welded to the back. The door opens and latches. There is no floor or firewall. Includes the stock height windshield.
The main rails of the frame appear to be modified Model A. The rear end is 55 Chevy with a Model A spring and shortened 35/36 rear radius rods.
Front axle is a V-8 60 with custom built hair pins. Spring perches are the fronts of 35/36 wishbones turned around to put the spring behind the axle like Norm Grabowski did. The front spring has tapered ends like an old Hollywood Spring CO spring. The spindles are turned down round backs. Shock mounts are F1. The steering box looks like a Ross with a T column and wheel. It has a GM dual master cylinder with clutch and brake pedals. Drag link and tie rods are there-even the brake lines are run. This is a well designed and built chassis.
Custom brass radiator came with it but I'm not sure if it was part of the original build.
The wheels and tires are pure late 60's Bad Ass. Rear wheels are 15x10 magnesium 5 spokes with M&H Racemaster 9.00-15's. The front wheels are spindle mount 12 spoke Americans with little 125-15 Perellis. The tires are 50 years old but have never been run.
