Description 1956 Ford ThunderbirdListed on behalf of Monte Shelton.
Located in PORTLAND, OREGON.
This Thunderbird was built at the Dearborn factory on March 16, 1956 and shipped to Des Moines, Iowa. Outfitted with the 312 cubic inch, 225 horsepower Thunderbird V8 with Fordomatic automatic transmission. Optioned with power steering, 4-way power seat, radio, heater/defroster and porthole hardtop.
While the early history is unknown, several years ago it made its way to the Pacific Northwest where it underwent a full restoration to a very high level. NO RUST. Body stripped and repainted in correct 1956 Fiesta Red, a beautiful color on these cars. Today it is in excellent condition with a lovely, deep shine. All chrome was re-plated and trim polished. New wire wheels were fitted with radial tires. White Porthole top was refinished and new headliner fitted. Interior was correctly reupholstered. New carpets. Thunderbird AM/FM/Cassette radio was fitted and sounds great. Soft top replaced with black Haartz cloth, which is excellent. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS.
Mechanically this Bird is excellent. Rebuilt V8 runs and drives great. Beautifully detailed under the hood. PLEASE SEE VIDEO OF ENGINE RUNNING.
Overall, this is an excellent Thunderbird throughout. Ready to show or go anywhere.
A realistic reserve has been placed on this Bird in keeping with the quality of the restoration. It could not be duplicated today for the reserve asking price.
