Extensive custom emulates a Ford prototype "49er"!
1949 Ford Other --
Built to emulate the Ford concept car "Forty Niner" designed by Chip Foose. Extensive custom work, it would cost over $100,000 to duplicate at a professional shop! Less then 4,000 miles since built. EXTERIOR: Where to start, there is extensive custom body alterations front to back. The roof is chopped 3 inches, pillar post was removed to make it a hardtop, a 65 Mustang windshield and 78 Mustang rear window were installed (I have never seen another one done like...that). Radically custom one of a kind front end. Redesigned grill, bumper removed, built in fog lights and really modern headlights. The hood has been completely shaved smooth and nosed, rear edge was raised. The sides were slabbed- handles and stock trim removed and filled smooth. The trunk lid was shortened and smoothed. The trunk, door and window open by remote. The tail end is radically altered. Has frenched vertical taillights, custom exhaust outlets, custom license plate surround and bumper is removed. It has chrome 18 inch Ford Edge wheels. The paint has a beautiful shiney finish but there are areas it has a textured, bubbled look. INTERIOR: Radically custom inside too. It has a full length console that extends to the back making it 4 bucket seats. Driver's is power. The console is also home to a Hurst Promatic shifter, air ride controls, power windows, vintage heat and air controls. The dash is from a 55 Desoto and features Dolphin gauges. Only 3,958 on odometer since built. Has a tilt column with Billet Specialties wheel with leather grip that matches upholstery and Ford script on the horn button. The seats, custom made door panels and headliner all match. Has Kenwood stereo with CD changer and premium Polk speakers. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has a Ford 5.0 V-8 motor with Edelbrock intake, Holley carb and electronic ignition. Custom fabricated air cleaner, inner fenders, firewall, bottom of the hood are all color matched to the body. It has power steering, power brakes, serpentine belt, chrome valve covers and more. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The compartment was boxed, bottom of trunk lid had a custom cover made. It was all very neatly upholstered to match the interior. Floor is carpeted. Has custom prop rod and remote control latch. Behind the panels are the battery and on board compressor for the air ride. UNDERSIDE: Upfront has completely rebuilt Mustang II front end with tubular control arms and disc brakes. Bottom of the motor is still clean, has new starter. It's mated to a C-6 automatic trans with custom made teans mount. New driveshaft leads back to a Ford 9 inch rear. In back it has tubular control arms and air bags. Brakes were all redone, new lines and hoses, e-brake is hooked up. Has very neatly bent dual exhaust system. The floors and frame are clean original. There is a battery cut off switch and a hidden back up button to pop the door open. This is truly a one of a kind, you won't park next to another one! Very similar to the Ford prototype that was very close to going into production but didn't. Here is your chance to get a very special car.
