1967 Ford Mustang Restomod Convertible

You've always wanted a Mustang, but the old tech and dated handling don't really appeal to you. Well, guess again, because this bright orange 5.0-powered 1967 Ford Mustang convertible hits all the right notes without destroying the original car's soul. You don't need a big block or racing stripes to have a lot of fun in a Mustang ragtop. The fire-breathing V8 muscle that we expect today is a legend created by a select few, but with... the addition of a modern fuel-injected powerplant, this vintage ragtop can run with the nastiest hardware of the '60s. With a bright orange paint job, it sure looks the part of first-class summertime fun, especially with the addition of the subtle Shelby-style hood and nose, complete with fog lights in the grille. The bodywork is quite straight, and it sure looks like this car has lived all its life without experiencing the misery of winter weather, although it's worth noting that the front fenders are new. It also features a blacked-out tail panel that looks very cool plus sequential taillights that make for an awesome show on the roll. You'll also be pleased to show this one off, because a few subtle changes like the shaved emblems and bullet-style mirrors give it a racy look without going over-the-top. It just looks right. The handsome black interior has a few liberties taken, but you'll appreciate them the moment you put the top down in the sun. Bright Orange accents have been added to the door panels and the steering column has been painted to match, so there's some relief from the all-black look. The door panels also feature bright aluminum inserts to match the dash, a nice dress-up touch. The seats are stock wearing reproduction seat covers, the carpets are in very good condition, and an upscale wood-rimmed steering wheel warms things up a bit. Even the standard models got a pretty complete array of gauges, although this one has fresh Auto Meter dials neatly installed in the original gauges' spots. The stereo is a modern AM/FM/CD unit that sounds great for top-down cruising. There's also a brand new black power convertible top and a neatly upholstered trunk with rear-mounted battery. For years, the 5.0, has been a mainstay of Mustang performance. This same engine worked well in late-model Mustangs, and with the wonders of fuel injection, this one runs better than any carbureted V8 could. The hardware should look familiar and the installation is very professionally done, looking like it was built this way by the factory. All the original electronics are in place, so it starts instantly and idles properly, hot or cold, and you already know the wide, flat torque curve that the long-runner intake manifold creates. A serpentine belt drive system and a big aluminum radiator enhance reliability, and this car is fitted with power steering, so it's easy to handle. The original C4 3-speed automatic transmission doesn't mind the 5.0's torque and makes this ragtop feel quick around town, and it's enhanced by the 8.8-inch rear end from a T-Bird Turbo Coupe, which has 3.73 gears and disc brakes. Nice! Long-tube headers feed a Flowmaster dual exhaust system, so this vintage pony sounds every bit like a modern 5.0, something everyone loves. Clean floors, a new gas tank, and fresh shocks make a great impression underneath. It sits on 18-inch aluminum wheels complete with staggered 235/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear performance radials. Find out what most Mustang owners already knew: the 5.0 is always a great choice, especially in a vintage Mustang ragtop. Call today!
