1967 Ford Mustang

Just in time for cruising the byways to check out the fall colors with the roof down. The Mustang was a hit when they were introduced because they were sporty and fun to drive. They still are. This one is fun to listen to also as you let the 289 under the hood rev up a bit as you roll on the throttle. All the more reason to take it out and play with it. Doesn't everyone have the urge for a little red convertible somewhere along the way. Maybe when you see one driving by and wish it could be you driving it? This one is a good one with crisp clean body lines and glossy paint that catches the light along those lines and reflects it back out nicely as you drive down the street. Under the front edge of that long hood is the familiar galloping Pony in the center of a black grill that is trimmed in chrome and underlined by a simple chrome bumper. When the white convertible top is down, there is a nice parchment colored boot that matches the interior to cover it up and keep the look clean. A Mustang badge appears on the front fender and Mustang is in script along the back edge of the trunk. Under that are those iconic triple taillights trimmed in chrome and underlined by another sharp looking chrome bumper with a couple of chrome exhaust tips peeking out from underneath. Open the door, or just look inside if the top is down, and you will find a Parchment colored interior that is the perfect compliment to the Red paint. The door panel itself cuts a line that mimics the accent line down the side of the car. The bucket seats have pleated centers with smooth bolsters and has chromed framework for the folding back. Have a seat and reach out for the beautiful wooden deep dish three-spoke steering wheel with a galloping Mustang center button. Just in front of it is a stock dash that is in great condition with a black upper section holding gauges trimmed nicely in chrome. There are two big round gauges with the speedo on the left and oil pressure and voltage on the right as well as smaller fuel and engine gauges in the upper corners. A parchment colored lower section holds an AM/FM Cassette deck for your listening pleasure and the T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission is mounted on the center tunnel. Pop the hood on this car and you will find a 289 V8 that is arguably the most desirable motor to have in an early Mustang nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. It is topped by a chrome air filter assembly and there are finned aluminum valve covers. The engine iron is painted Ford Blue while red spark plug wires and distributor cap looks like they were color coordinated for the car and fresh belts and hoses and radiator keep things turning and running cool. Power flows back through a three-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels mounted on leaf springs while coil springs and power steering handle things at the front. The rubber meets the road through 205/70R14 tires mounted on polished steel wheels with Mustang center caps. Have some fun this fall, and the rest of the year too, with this little Red convertible. Come on down and check it out. You might just decide that you should take it home with you.
