1966 Ford Mustang 55148 Miles Red Coupe 6 Cylinder Manual
1966 Ford Mustang --
The introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang's styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators. Designed in majority by L. David Ash, the Mustang project had been given five goals for the design of the Mustang: it would seat four, have bucket seats and a floor mounted shifter, weigh no more than 2,500 pounds and be no more than 180... inches in length, sell for less than $2,500, and have multiple power, comfort, and luxury options. To decrease development costs, the Mustang used chassis, suspension, and drivetrain components derived from the Ford Falcon and Fairlane. It used a unitized platform-type frame from the 1964 Falcon, and welded box-section side rails, including welded cross-members. The 1966 Mustang offered here is powered by its 6 cylinder paired with a 4 speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. The car features a fresh re paint and looks great. The chrome shows some small pitting and age, but is still very presentable. The black interior remains in excellent condition. The car rides on 14 inch wheels with factory hubcaps with 195/75 tires. This car handles very well and is a blast to drive. Don't miss your opportunity to own this affordable early Mustang.
