(second car at 42 second mark on video)
This 1934 Ford Model 40 Roadster is an absolutely spectacular example of a premium, custom designed and fabricated Street Rod Conversion.
While keeping with the traditional look and characteristics of this now 84 year old pre-war Roadster, this rare all steel '34 features virtually all the luxury items and creature comforts that one would expect to find in a modern high performance automobile.
Features such as a high performance computer controlled and fuel injected motor, a four speed automatic transmission, huge power four wheel disc brakes, power rack & pinion steering, a four wheel independent suspension system, custom designed instrumentation, a custom designed premium leather upholstered interior by the legendary Ron Mangus, a custom fabricated all steel body, a one-off set of billet wheels as well as a sophisticated state of the art multi speaker CD/iPod stereo system.
As noted above in the extensive Special Equipment list and as depicted in the over 200 photographs, this unique Street Rod was custom fabricated using the finest materials and performance components available, and was elected to compete for the top prize in the 2012 Americas Most Beautiful Roadster Award, at the Grand National Roadster Show. All component manuals and details of the build come in a binder with the car for future reference.
Three and a half years of custom fabrication and final assembly by Brian Dickey at Dickey Hot Rods in San Clemente, CA, body and paint by Al Alcorn at Showtime and yet another outstanding leather interior by Ron Mangus. The caliber of all work performed on this custom Street Rod is of the absolute highest quality, the entire vehicle is both highly detailed as well as being fully functional and extremely well finished.
A Smeding Performance built 427ci Windsor Small Block pumping out 560 horse power transports this '34 into a modern rocket ship. Coupled with independent suspension at all four corners and massive Wilwood disc brakes resonates a confidence of more modern Ferrari rather than '34 Ford. This thing ROCKS. The overall balance and feel to this beautiful machine is simply unmatched in fun factor.
The Roadster has been gently driven 1697 miles since completion, mostly on the back roads of the well known Rancho Santa Fe Community of San Diego, CA, where she has been garaged exclusively since new in a climate controlled underground garage. I call it "Car Heavenâ€.
I am helping a good friend sell this flawless '34 Roadster. Just as a matter of reference, I have been judging cars at all types of levels for over 25 years and have extensive experience in restoration of many marques. I am extremely picky and probably grade more on the lower side when evaluating vehicles. I rate this car simply as "Concourâ€. It is ready to show at any level or venue.
The owner is an avid collector of anything automotive and is fastidious in the care of all of the cars in his collection. The car runs and drives perfectly and has been maintained continuously by Brian Dickey Hot Rods (the Builder) in San Clemente, CA.
