1971 Ford Torino 500 original color, motor, trans, numbers matching Arizona car
1971 Ford Torino 500
Up for auction is my 1971 Ford Torino 500. It's about 95% original if I guessed. It's a numbers matching original paint survivor from Arizona. It was built in Atlanta in 1971 and shipped out to Arizona per the DSO where it spent all its life until I brought it to Chicago (had it shipped but it would've made the drive) a year and half ago. It's rust free and garage kept. Everything on it works including the door buzzer. The front seats are Corbeau buckets that were installed by the previous owner. The back seat is original and was recovered black to match the front seats. New correct color carpet installed and vehicle was dynamatted before carpet went in. This is a factory AC car but is still set up for R12 and has not been converted yet. Heat works amazingly! It includes a Torino GT hood as pictured and a set of GT mirrors (not pictured) that are not painted. It was converted to a floor shift at some point but the original column handle and steering wheel are included. I installed a wooden steering wheel since those are my favorites. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. Motor and trans were rebuilt about 20k ago per previous owner. No paperwork on that unfortunately. It was also lowered 1 inch with sway bars as previous owner would do weekend auto cross and such events with it. It does have a 4 barrel carb on it but the block and most of it is original to the car. Any questions please feel free to ask. Torino is being sold as is with no warranty given, implied, or expressed. To update the listing based on some questions I have received. The following is below.
The paint is not perfect. There are chips and other blemishes here and there. It's a great 10-20 footer in my opinion for what the car is
Door locks all work as the should including glove box lock
I installed a newer type air cleaner but original parts I have for it will all be included in sale
Car is located in Chicago near O'Hare airport and you're welcome to come see it if you like
The wipers and windshield washer work too
It now has a black ball shift knob with the c4 pattern on it
The headliner has a few small tears but is mostly intact
It has a GT tail light assembly. That's how I got it
The dash is original and has the typical cracks on drivers side from the Arizona sun. It's cutrentky covered by a black carpet cover
I reserve the right to sell to the closest bidder if the reserve is not met. I will contact the closest bidders to see if a deal can be made
No trades but not opppsed to other muscle cars (66-72 years) and possible vettes in the 97-up range
I will be adding more pics today of the things mentioned so that it can be seen and the bidding hasn't gotten very high
Thanks
