1928 Ford Model A

Here we have a 1928 Model A coupe, powered by a 1950 Mercury flathead engine(runs Great) 1939 or 40 Ford three speed manual transmission.(shifts very nice and smooth) It has been converted to 12 volt, with a new Chrome alt. and bracket. And new foot feed and gas pedal from speedway. And looks like a new vega steering box. The old mercury carb was replaced with a rebuilt two barrel Rochester and it also works like it should. I believe the flathead has had some work done to it in the past because it has about 50 to 60 # of oil pressure. It has also been painted up nicely. One or two of the head bolts are also different.
There are custom made headers form speedway motors that sound great, I would still put mufflers on for me. As you can see there are new hairpins in front and radius arms in back. I was told that the front brakes and backing plates may be 1939-40 Lincoln? not sure. The front are new and will need brakes in the back. The clutch works smooth and grabs very nice. There are all new gauges and wiring. (VDO) I did brake the oil sending nut off so that will have to be replaced. I will get the new one for it. If I get time I will put it in but at least you will get the unit. The alt is hooked up and is also new. I have the new sending unit for the temp but have not installed yet at this time, I may or may not get to it. Glass is all good except crack in lower bottom of windshield. riders side door does not roll up or down, It does have a new fuel tank installed in the back and sending unit but is not working for some reason. I do believe the sending unit does not match the VDO gauges is all. (The Gauges are all brand new) The tail, brake and signal light are working and are L.E.D. (Also Brand new) The headlights are also hooked and working. There are couple of things like horn and heater not hooked up, (no horn and no heater) The wiring is there (and new) as is some extra for like tach and electric fan if you choose to go that route, There is a brand new aluminum radiator hooked and running . As the pictures show the doors and kick panels are upholstered . I did look and find this same stuff at Joann fabric it is heavy vinyl and looks to me like alligator! Hide. It is black and looks pretty good. The seats are in and I have no idea what they came from maybe vw? The body is in pretty good shape with very little rust . There has been some patch work on the lower rear Quarters. The welding is good the paint not so much. I have painted some black paint over where it has lost paint over the years to keep it from rusting. There is some surface rust in these areas but nothing bad There is also a brand new battery installed . I have had this out in my yard and drive way running but has not been on the freeway or roads so I am sure there will be some adjusting and odds and ends to do on it, The back brake do need to be redone. This will make a true nostalgia Hot Rod From The Past I have clear MN title in my name . Please note, You must pay for shipping on your end. I will help on mine to load . Please NOTE!
