Description:

1970 Ford Torino GT

Up for auction is a Ford Torino GT that was assembled at the Atlanta plant and sold new in Atlanta. I purchased from the original owner who bought it in October, 1969. The car went from Atlanta to Augusta, GA in the mid '70's. I have a title from 1975 (She changed the title from the original when she got married) and a deluxe Marti Report, showing this car as 1 of 1 ever built with the big block 429, C6 Trans, black deluxe buckets, argent steel wheels (w/caps and trim rings) and white paint. It's the only one ever built like this, and it's a complete matching numbers car. The motor and transmission has never been out of the car. The car has not run since 1994. It was running when parked under the carport in favor of a more economicalHonda. The interior will need to be replaced. The console was cracked/broken in the '80's from a "third" front seat passenger using it as a seat. There is some rust, but it's not bad. There is some rust on the inside middle hood bracing, but it can be repaired. The hood does not need to be replaced. The driver front floor pan needs to be replaced, but the rest of the floors are good. The trunk floor and drop-offs are solid. The top of the tail light panel (trunk lip) has some rust holes. The filler panel between the back glass and deck lid can be repaired, but I would replace. Only other metal that needs replacing is below the battery tray (small area) and left lower quarter needs a small patch. Any other rust is surface. The car was repainted once in 1985. Overall, this is a solid southern car that deserves a full restorationbecause of what it is. I have the original dog dish hub caps and trim rings. It is an air car, and I have a few of the components to go with it. I also have the metal panel that fits into the center console, along with books and manuals.
