BARN FIND!!!!, BARN FIND !,!,!,!BARN FIND !!!! Parked for 30 years!
It,s not to many times in a life time you get to find one of your dream cars to build. But for me it just had to come too late in my life to have the ability and time to do it. Older and tired.
And so for that much said I am listing a BARN FIND 68 Mustang fastback that is a numbers match 302 v-8 automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, am/fm radio optioned car. This car also had a vinyl roof on it that was white and went all the way back to the lid. The valve covers on the car the original owner put on way back in the 70s. As shown in the photos the mouldings are there except there are some missing for the grill. The front bumper is also missing because there was a little fender bender in the front right and the front fender was replaced with a factory fender WITHOUT THE ANTENNA HOLE in it.The condition of the body looks deceiving but let me explain it. The brown color that looks like surface rust is actually the factory brown oxide primer that is showing through. I too thought this was all surface rust and took my DA sander with 220 grit sand paper on it and sanded it down to see what was under it, and was relieved to find the metal in great condition. A person could have this car taken all the way down to the metal and be happy to find what is under it.There also is a bit of hood damage but you could replace a hood easier then repairing it. You will need to replace the floor pans as the picture shows. The frame rails are fine but after sitting on a dirt floor barn the floor pans have surrendered themselves to the moisture. Trunk pan and rear quarters are good. Interior condition you can see what it will need to restore. I don't want to hide any secrets from anyone, but like I said it is a BARN FIND ! And 25,574 actual milesThe engine does turn freely and the original four barrel carb and intake are all there. Air conditioning compressor, hoses and condenser are missing though. After doing so many MOPAR cars over the years I had always wanted a fastback mustang but this one just came to late for me and I really hate to see it go. But there is one thing I have learned the parts for this car are half the price of Mopar parts, and this car can be done fairly inexpensive. This car needs done! And I would like to see it done in a short time. Would like to hear of the progress and see the completed unit as well. I have more pictures and videos that I can share with you if you want to reply to me and get your email phone number to send them to I would be happy to do so.Car is sold as is and a non refundable deposit of $500.00 is due at the end of the auction.Buyer is to arrange shipping and please don't bid if you are not going to buy the car. I don't like those games. Once again email me with your phone number if you want to talk about nothing on the car and I will be glad to answer all questions. Payment must be approved before car is taken. Thanks and good luck.
