1967 Ford E-Series Van DUKES OF HAZZARD AND MOTORHEAD=THE GENERAL LEMMY
INTERNATIONAL AND OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME. PLEASE CALL ME AT (76O) 8O5-8038 WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR TO BUY IT NOW. This is my van, The General Lemmy. First off, let me say a few things. I never thought I would write this ad and I certainly never planned on selling Lemmy. My dog Johnny Cash is my absolute Best Friend in the world. We have traveled all over the country (like the song said, Johnny Cash, he's been everywhere man) and had uncountable adventures together in Lemmy. The picture gallery are all pictures exclusively from some of those road trips. Cash has had some major surgeries in the last six months and is doing better than ever now! That being said, I have laid out about 40k for all of it and our adventures are now better suited in a new Chevy Tahoe. I also have a new business opportunity and those are the only reasons I am even considering selling my van. If it doesn't sell or if I decide to take it off of the market, I will just find another way. It's not that big of a deal. I like and appreciate all older cars regardless of style and makes. Custom, Hot Rod, Gasser, 4x4, Lowrider, whatever. They are all somebody's baby and you should respect the pride somebody has in them. I am not saying my van is better than anybody's. You can be the judge. All I am saying is Lemmy has been the best for us. I have zero interest in dealing with idiots or haters. Go bother somebody else or come and do it in person.Do you want what is, in my opinion at least, one of the coolest rides on the planet? This is a show winning, drive anywhere, go anywhere, at any time 1967 Ford Econoline Shorty Panel Van that has been extensively updated to drive and handle like a modern car. YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT ANYWHERE! I grew up loving The Dukes of Hazzard TV show along with The General Lee 1969 Dodge Charger and Lemmy Kilmister is the greatest Frontman of the greatest Rock and Roll band ever, Motorhead. So here you have The General Lemmy. It has a modern Chevrolet Vortec 4.3 liter V-6, a built 700R4 Overdrive automatic transmission, and a Ford 9 inch rearend. It is equipped with Electronic Power Assist Power Steering, dual master power disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, Mustang II independent front suspension, HEI distributor, MSD multispark ignition box, mechanical and electric cooling fans, Holley four barrel with vacuum secondaries, passenger side power window, and dual exhaust. If you love the look of an early Custom Van but are not a fan of manual steering, manual drum brakes, and three on the tree manual column shifters, THIS IS NOTHING LIKE THAT. It starts right up every time, settles into a smooth idle, and has huge aluminum radiator so it never overheats even in Southern California traffic. There is also an additional switch for the lock up torque converter that basically serves as another overdrive. It will cruise at 85 MPH all day out on the freeway at low RPMs. It stops well. It handles well. It drives better. It would take hours to list everything.
The body is in beautiful condition. There is zero rust anywhere on this van. It is arrow straight. This is my personal van and I know every inch of it although I am not stealing credit for the build as all of that goes to my friend Vic. He was the mastermind behind it all. The Firemist Orange paint with subtle Flames is excellent. It has a few minor chips from being driven and having fun, but we would have to look closely to find them. The finish is very nice. It is not perfect. There are some minor imperfections in the clearcoat on the rear door, but it is very nice. The General Lemmy stickers are easily removed if you choose. Cash and I have only taken Lemmy to one big show at The Escape To Hazzard County in Santa Barbara (what a great event with a million cool people just having a great time) where it won Best Van. The car shows and trophies are great for some people. Just not us. We are just more into hitting the open road and finding something randomly cool to do on the backroads of the Good Ol' US of A. Lemmy has Side and Rear Gullwing doors that pop with a remote keychain popper, as do the front doors. There are manual releases inside all of the doors in case of emergency. The door handles have been shaved. Narrowed front bumper. Custom billet flip style gas cap by Crafty B with Born To Lose, Live to Win inscribed on it.
One of the coolest features of the entire van is the functional one-off custom dual sidepipes. They were originally Peterbilt Semi Smoke Stacks that still flare out that big at the rear. It definitely gives Lemmy the Hot Wheels look. It is really difficult to get across how nicely my friend Vic that built them did on that job. They are seamed at the back so you can see no weld marks. They have baffles so they have a nice, deep tone to them but are not overly loud. Cragar SS wheels. The tires are older so I will install a new set of tires before it goes anywhere. I want you to be happy with it. Wooden steering wheel with steering knob, custom dash mounted shifter with heavy metalflake Peterbilt orange shifter knob. Original dash gauge cluster with functioning gauges. There are also gauges in the custom overhead panel with temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature, transmission temperature, and vacuum. The vaccum gauge originally functioned as a boost gauge for the fuel injected V-6 Turbo set up that was in the van. The heat from the Turbo was just too much. The upper panel has the switches for the LED lighting throughout the ceiling of the van. It also contains the power toggle for the stereo and both amplifiers. Subwoofer under the backseat. The big stereo sounds awesome. It will hit hard if you want it to. One amp is mounted to the ceiling and one behind the seat. Wireless Bluetooth capability so you can just play music from your phone. It also has Front and Rear Recording Dash Cams. The black interior is very nice, clean, and well set up. Modern front bucket seats that are only a couple of years old. They are very comfortable for the long Road Trips. I also have a set of newly restored black Econoline bucket seats from my other 1965 Five Window truck that I sold. They have never been sat on or installed. You may have to modify the mounting brackets or use the exisiting mounts. One rear facing matching bucket seat and bench seat across the back. That is Cash's Captain's Chair. The black side and roof panels are carpeted over wood with a bunch of sound deadening and insulation behind them. They look great and function well as sound and heat reducer. The widened Doghouse also has it underneath so there are no heat issues at all inside. Front and rear Pop Up sunroofs that are removable. The side windows are Pop Out but are actually sunroofs too. They function very well as you can run them popped out or remove them completely which almost functions like air conditioning since you get so much air flow with everything opened up.
All in all, this is a killer van that is ready to show or drive. It is not a cobbled together van that nothing works. It is a well thought out package that will bring you years of fun and laughs. Classic vans are as hot as anything right now. If you are thinking you are going to steal this one, you are not. It would cost a fortune to try and build it again. You could not come close to building it from scratch for the price, not to mention you would have an enormous amount of time and frustration even trying to do it. Like I said, I am still not crazy about the idea of selling it and even less enthusiastic after writing this ad and remembering how good of a van that Lemmy really is. But if you are serious please feel free to give me a call. Clean, clear California title in my name, in hand, with current registration. I am located in Cardiff, CA in North County Coastal San Diego. I do not believe anybody will be disappointed with my van.
