Vintage Convertible - Less than 100k original miles - 390 Big Block Engine

1967 Ford Galaxie

Rare, vintage, and still running. This 67 Galaxie convertible is mostly original (not restored), and while it shows its age, it's overall clean and solid. 79.6k original miles.

I believe the engine is a 390 (although stamped 352 like all FE blocks of the era) and the carb was professionally rebuilt in summer 2017. It starts and drives pretty well, although it's a bit cold blooded and slow to start on cold mornings.

Upholstery and carpet are in good condition (no rips, stains, odors, cigarette smoke, etc.). The exterior has a few scratches and dimples in the paint and bumpers, but no major rust or dents. The canopy is solid and has no rips, but could use a steam cleaning. The rear vinyl cover (for use when the top is down) has some age-related cracking. It has limited accessories, but they work (AM radio and power top). The dash is in great shape, while the steering wheel and plastic instrument console have a few age-relate scuffs and scratches. The lock mechanism for driver-side door needs to be looked at to see if it is broken (or maybe it is keyed differently than the passenger side and I just don't have a key for it).

A little history: I inherited the car from my dad who passed away in 2017. It was his daily driver during summer months (for 30+ years). He was the second owner, and he was an engineer who grew up in the era of cars like this and knew how to keep it running. I don't drive the car, and didn't grow up working on cars of this vintage, so other than the occasional drive around town, it mostly just sits. Because it sits around, I strongly recommend the following:

·Pick it up with a car carrier - for me the longer it sits, the more sluggish it becomes until I start driving it around for a few days.

·Know that this is a vintage 50-year old vehicle - not a restored hot rod! A lot of the original interior parts show their age and are a bit fragile. The car needs a light touch and somebody with brains and skill to keep it in good working order.
