Description:
1969 Ford Mustang
This is the ultimate vintage sports car made to be a fun, elite and fast driver. Started with a California made Mustangoriginal 302 V8 coupethat was sold in December 1968 at the old Smith-Gandy downtown Seattle dealership and she has since spent her whole life in Seattle. First owned by a University of Washington faculty, then by a Boeing Engineer and then by me.Media blasted to bare metal and lovingly restored every part is reconditioned or new.We have redesigned her for ultimate fun. First off we put in one of the most storied transmissions a Tremec T-5 which is a 1990s racing-grade 5-speed transmission freshly rebuilt that drops right into the standard location with almost no mods needed. Super cool Hurst Shifter. Next a modern and smooth hydraulic clutch. This shifts nicer than a modern BMW, like butter, from gear to silk gear. Super fast and tight power steering through a lightweight Borgeson box and an elite black leather Italian made nardi steering wheel.
Interior with custom made, but with original vibe, bucket seats with modern 3-point seat belts. Center console with cup holders mean this car even makes sense. The tachometer instrument cluster is Dakota Digital and their highest end analog set that looks perfect and has gauges that are accurate enough to be in a nascar racer. The original AM radio is in the dash but there is a mind blowing rockford stereo that is mostly stealth in the trunk. Over 1000 watts with a subwoofer and elite Italian and French Focal speakers. Unbelievable high fidelity sound. Of course no restomod is complete without clifford power remote door locks.
This car has been a labor of love and will make someone very happy. Get her for less than a new mustang GT 350 and this one will go up in value with time. To keep her racing credentials no air-conditioning added but for about $1200 a vintage air system could be purchased. New springs and gas shocks. With Vintage/Collector plates in the state of Washington you will never have to pay a car tab fee. No emissions testing on cars of this vintage. Just a highway worthy go-cart of fun! Last photo is how I found her!
The engine is the original vin matching/numbers matching 302 V8 unit rebuilt from the ground up. Bored to a 306 for the new forged pistons, complete roller (roller cam and rockers). Very nice FiTech fuel injectors means starts right up in the cold and drives away without any warm-up or choke action. Eldebrock Street Fighter heads with big valves. Recently dyno-tuned and with a calculated 350 horse power at the flywheel and over 400 pounds of torque, this engine blows away the original Boss 302, even more power than a stock cobra jet big block. Nice shaker hood scoop (Scott Drake original tooling). The power is laid down through Boss 17" wheels and a staggered set of continental performance summer tires. The power brake setup is with racing Wilwood discs in the front with a modern steering pump and the original drums in the rear. Stops on a dime.
The paint job was done by the very high end Bernard's in Seattle in Oxford white with a Boss 302 themed mat black hood, stripes and tail-light section. The perfectly remade original reflective 1969 Boss 302 stripes look awesome and have original vibe. The headlights are halogens with relays in place. The suspension is all new and the car is lowered 2" over stock but no rubs or other nonsense. Engine is topped off with custom made ceramic coated Ford Performance headers and new magnaflow mufflers. This car growls like a Porsche with a deep satisfying rumble. Only about 1100 miles on the freshly rebuilt car. This car gets constant comments and oohs and ahhhs.
