Description:

1929 Ford Model A

Offered is a 1929 Ford Coupe that for the most part I think has been sitting since 1967. The last owner that actually used the coupe on the road may have been from Missouri and he or she used the coupe while going to BaylorUniversityfrom 1962 to 1965 and continued driving it until 1967. The car is still wearing one of the 1967 Texas licence plates. There are1962 thru 1965Baylor University Parking Permit Decals on the windows. And While I was cleaning the gas tank I found "Heart with Dorthy and Hollis, Mo" scratched in the dash. In 2003 when I bought it, it from around Waco, Texas. At that time I flushed the gas tank, tinkered around with it to get it running, rebuilt the steering gear, and replaced the bumpers with some used ones that were a little shinier ...... then moved on to another project.
I will be adding additional pictures tomorrow. Please use them to judge the condition.
The paint is very old with surface rust. Being from Texas and stored for many years there is verylittle rust thru. The body and fenders have numerous light dents and old repairs. The upholstery is old and distressedor missing. I am not a mechanic, but to me, the engine normally starts easily and runs well without any bad knocks. The wiring is limited to only what allows the coupe to run and drive ...... no lights or horn. ammeter does show a charge.Brakes and clutch work without a problem. For the little I've driven it it never overheated or leaked antifreeze. The tires are old but hold air without a problem. There is a used unmounted spare tire that is included. This is a car to continue tinkering with and improving. It is not a car you can buy and expect to drive home.
Please contact me with any questions. Viewingthe car in person before bidding is both encouragedand recommended. It is being sold "as is" with a NYS registration in my name.

Hah, I couldn't edit my poor description because someone has already made a bid.
The ammeter does not show a charge.I've only driven it up and down on the rural road I live on.The dents are mainly on the fenders and rumble seat lid.The canvas top needs to be replaced. It is torn on the front and back. One wooded top bow is broken.A long trumpet horn that was on the car when I bought it will be included. The steering wheel is a newer reproduction. The nickel plated gauge panel has been replated. The shift lever and emergency brake lever are old but pretty shiny chrome. It is missing the rods to make the emergency brake work.

Today I cleaned it up a bit, found an oil change sticker@ 86,703 miles from 1964under the sea, and a lot of pictures. I took many more than I can post here.
I tried to include the few areas that show rust thru and did include three that I could get clear pictures of. One is to the rear of the rumble seat riser and the body panel below the rumble seat lid. Another is on the exterior skin of the rumble seat lid about where a trunk handle would be on a car without a rumble seat. A thirdis a small area of paint blisters just beginning on the right quarter panel. The area that I couldn't get a good picture of is a is narrow area along part of the bottom seam of the left rear fender splash shield seam.
If there is something in particular you'd like to see please send me a message. I may already have a picture of it.

Today I spent some time trying to find a rattle/vibration on the coupe and found some things I didn't know. While I was underneath checking the differential and transmission lube I discovered that one of the rear brake rods is missing. I did find finally find the source of the noise...... the rumble seat lid was vibrating against the body. While looking at it more closely I discovered that there are trunk hinges still on the car too ...... somebody converted the trunk lid to a rumble seat lid. I adjusted the lid a little and cushioned the trunk hinge pins with a couple short pieces of gas hose and left them in place. The noise is much better.
The book that is in shown in the second last picture is a 1962 Baylor University yearbook. I bought it to see if there was a Dorthy or Hollis in it, but had no luck. A 1965 yearbook would have had better odds.
