1965 MUSTANG FASTBACK A CODE San Jose built, California owned, original red on red factory colors. Factory A code with GT options. C4 automatic, power disc front brakes, power steering, floor console, correct styled wheels ( no trim rings), rally pack with both working tach and clock, a/c with upgraded compressor that blows cold. Rebuilt engine and transmission. All original sheet metal with factory stampings visible. All glass has the "Carlite logo", including the windshield. Original data tag (never removed) still riveted to the driver's door jam ( "J" paint code with "25" code interior). The car has absolutely no rust any where, even the original gas tank with its' stenciled part number and attaching screws is still in place. If you've owned one of these and/or spent any time looking for one, you know how hard it is to find original sheet metal cars. The chassis is very original. Original fuel line, brake lines are still attached with the factory brackets, clips, etc. as they left the assembly line. The drops from the factory red oxide application are visible on the floor pans. All factory welds are present and undisturbed. The power disc front brakes make the car a pleasure to drive, with effortless braking. The power steering works perfect with no excess play. Headlights, parking lights, fog lights, turn signals, wipers and horn all in working order. All engine gauges work...even the speedometer works accurately without the usual needle bounce. Excellent panel fit and bumper alignment. Has a nice stance with the front slightly lower. Tires have 90% tread remaining and the styled wheels are like new, with no scratches from lug nut removal. The suspension is tight and the car tracks straight with the steering wheel centered. The exhaust provides the perfect subtle "growl" at idle and sounds just right when driving. I welcome and encourage buyer or buyer's agent to inspect and drive the car...you won't be disappointed. The paint is very high driver quality with only the smallest flaws. Additional pictures are available showing original spot welds ( rear quarters to trunk drop off, etc.) and factory stampings throughout the body and subframe as well as other areas. The car has a solid feel from the way the door shut to the way it drives and handles
