If you have an older computer or a slow speed connection to the internet it may take up to several minute for all the photos to load to your screen. They load in large format for optimal viewing rather than the small image eBay format. There are some pictures in the eBay format as well but they only allow 24 images. If they do not appear you may simply cut and paste or click on this link below to go directly to my ImageShack account where the pictures are hosted in a large format, so you can blow them up as large as your screen can accommodate. JUMP IN... FASTEN UP and DRIVE IT CROSS COUNTRY!!

That's right... this is an example of a near perfect condition, low mile complete and very exacting clone of the 1967 Shelby GT500CR "Eleanor" - "Gone in Sixty Seconds” car, featuring a Keith Craft 427 Side-Oiler with 755 horsepower.Take it racing or nice enough to show at any type of car event or simply enjoy driving it on the street. This Shelby "Eleanor" is one of only three done in "Red" by Jason Engel of Classic Recreations LLC, the Oklahoma-based company officially licensed to build the Shelby GT500CR.

Starting its life as a real 390 V8 Mustang Fastback back in 1967, this cool classic has been transformed into the top dog Shelby GT500CR. The comprehensive restoration took place from 2005-2006 and is still fresh with less than 2000 miles logged since. The heart of this beast was built by Keith Craft and Dyno's out at 755 horsepower.

The car is licensed and totally street legal.Runs and drives wonderfully on the street.Make sure you take a look at the fly-by video of the car coming up a huge hill.

I am helping a friend sell this little gem. He is the consummate car "freak" in my book. He is thinning out his rather large collection of cars and this one is in need of a new home. I took some of my pictures of the car at his home to give you an idea of what kind of guy we are talking about here. He has a 3000 square foot air conditioned and heated "cave" under his house for his car collection. This car was one of his dream cars and has been maintained since his purchase around nine years ago by Dickey Hot Rods in San Clemente, CA. Brian Dickey is one of the top Hot Rod guys in Southern CA and this car runs amazing. The owner is a consummate collector and the type of person you want to buy this type of vehicle from.

Please take the time to read through th3 list of specs above so that you can understand just exactly what has been done to transform this car into an nearly "exact" replica of the original GT500 Eleanor. This is not just some fastback with a Shelby steering wheel, a stripe kit and a hood scoop. These "Restomods" are so much more than even the original Shelby cars could ever be. Modern features include authentic Shelby Performance Parts, rack and pinion steering, race-inspired suspension, oversized disc-brakes, and more. The Keith Craft 427 is hand assembled with the finest parts available. This GT500 offers supercar performance with classic muscle car looks.

BODY & PAINT:

The body is near pristine condition and appears to have never been disturbed in any way throughout its life. Take a look at the shut-line closeup pictures and you will notice just how nice everything fits.

In 2005-06 the car was completely stripped and media blasted to the metal before new primer and paint was applied. The paint is smooth and deep with plenty of clearcoat. There are no dings, scratches or imperfections in the finish. The car has been continuously garaged since the restoration and has a fresh appearance. Its a head turner wherever she goes.

MECHANICAL:

Mechanically the car has been maintained to absolute perfection. It is extremely fast and handles like it is on rails.

The car drives, shifts and runs like a dream. It rolls down the road on a brand new set of Z-rated Michelin Pilot Sport tires, straight as an arrow, with no shakes, rattles or imperfections anywhere in the handling or braking tendencies of this car.

It is nearly impossible to describe this rare one-off Shelby GT500CR

racer/show car. Perfection is a naughty word to throw around when it comes to automotive anything. This vehicle exudes perfection; in design, in workmanship, appearance, performance, handling and ride quality. Perfection abounds in this rare build, you can See it, Feel it, Hear it and Smell it.

Just as a matter of reference I have been collecting and restoring collectable automobiles and motorcycles for the last 40 years. I am a member in good standing with the Porsche Club of America, the 356 Registry and NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) for over 25 years. I have been a Concour Judge at various venues around Southern CA.

This is a stellar, turn-key automobile at the highest-level of restoration; in solid #1 condition needing nothing and running perfectly. The cars owner is a gentleman collector who has been involved in the hobby for many years in Southern CA.

A newly built Shelby GT500CR by Classic Recreations LLC in Yukon, OK starts at $249K. And it will not have the Legendary Keith Craft Motor that this one has with less than 2000 miles on the clock.

This Shelby GT500 Eleanor is the kind of master piece to be added to your collection if indeed you have a penchant for low mile race or show ready type of cars. You would be hard pressed to find a more solid, original and wonderful driving vehicle than this example in its rare red with white striped livery. Okay, Eleanor was cool in gray, but Eleanor should have been RED if you ask me. This is a very rare color combo and perhaps the nicest I have ever seen.

Fur further information please call Frank at 949-310-6262. If you would like to see the car or talk to the owner, his number is available, contact me before the auction ends. Brian Dickey at Dickey Hot Rods is intimately knowledgeable with this vehicle and is also available for discussion. We also encourage offers during the bidding process and are inclined to sell the car to a serious person that understands what it would cost to build a car such as this and is ready to purchase a turn-key example.
