Description:
1956 Ford Ranch Wagon
Up for sale is my 56 Ford 2dr Ranch Wagon. I purchased the car in February of this year to drive on the Hot Rod Power Tour. My intentions were to go over the car and replace or repair items that I thought needed addressed to make the 2000+ mile trip. Health issues have put a hault on my Power Tour plans and I'm having to sell the car.Features of the car:Fuel injected 302 out of a 95 Mustang GT. Records indicate the engine had less than 6000 miles on it at the time of build. Odometer on car now shows approximately 31500 miles. Unable to verify as correct mileage.Custom frame with rear air ride suspension. (Gives car a great stance)Custom 4 link rear suspension with 9" Ford differential. Open rear end. Gear ratio unknown.Ford AOD 4 speed transmission. Records indicate it was a rebuilt unit at time of build.FatMan Mustang II front subframe.Power Disc Front brakes. Power drums rear.Power Rack and Pinion steering.Ididit chrome tilt column with custom steering wheel.17" American Racing wheels. Tires appear to be in good condition.Electric seats (driver and passenger)Electric windows (driver and passenger)New headliner and upholstery.Vintage Air 134a in dash mounted ACShaved door handles with remote poppers.Frenched "halo" headlights.Carpet is in good condition.
Things I have installed or repaired:New fuel tank.New Walbro electric fuel pump.New 130 amp alternator.New aluminum Big Block Mustang radiator.New 16" Spal high performance fan with custom shroud.New Denso AC compressor w/new clutch, new dryer, new expansion valve, new O-ring seals, and backflushed AC system. System was evacuated and pressurized. Operating pressures indicate evaporator MAY be restricted. System currently is pressurized but not operational.
This car is a driver and NOT A SHOW CAR. While I'm sure it would continue to win trophies at small local car shows IT IS NOT A SHOW CAR. The car looks great from a few feet away (a good 5 footer) the paint and body do show visible signs of use and age. There are areas where the body filler appears to have dried down and ther are visible signs of past rust repairs on the lower portions of the body. In my opinion the paint isn't bad for a 17 year old paint job. My intentions were to drive the car as is or do a "faux patina" paint job highlighting the imperfections as signs of character or age. The chrome and trim are in very good condition. It appears the bumpers were rechromed. Glass is good with a few chips at the top of door glass. Doesn't appear to be an issue but I wanted to report it. Rear tailgate operates as it should.
This vehicle is reasonably priced with a realistic reserve, especially for a vintage wagon with a modern drivetrain and noted features. Car is available locally for inspection. PLEASE INSPECT OR ASK QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING. Vehicle is being sold "as is where is" with no warranty expressed or implied. Bids from bidders with less than 5 positive transactions will be rejected unless I am contacted before bid.
Vehicle carries a "Rebuilt" Arkansas title. A rebuilt title is not the same as a salvage title. The car obviously was built with non-stock components from salvaged vehicles. Arkansas is very stringent on vehicle titles and since the car obviously is not stock a rebuilt title was issued.
