1932 Ford Roadster Highboy-crate ZZ4, crate 700R4, So-Cal frame, rod, none nicer
1932 Ford Roadster Highboy
FOR SALE:
1932 Ford Roadster Highboy
This car is the product of a recent no-expense-spared build effort and the car was constructed using all new parts. To produce a car that compares to this one, one would have to spend many thousands of dollars.
The car is powered by a Chevrolet ZZ4, 350 cubic-inch crate motor that is paired to a 700R4 crate transmission. The sounds of the ZZ4 are emitted through ceramic coated headers and rear-exit dual exhaust. The ZZ4 is cooled by an AFCO aluminum radiator and an electric fan. The ZZ4 wears polished aluminum, milled valve covers and an air cleaner cover in the same variety. A chrome alternator exists as part of the car's charging system.
The power generated by the ZZ4 is delivered to the rear wheels with the help of a Ford 9-inch rear end and a Detroit Locker.
The car's frame is a So-Cal Speed Shop frame. The frame was accompanied by an authenticity certificate that will remain with the car.
The frame and the Harwood fiberglass body both wear a bright red, show-quality finish that was professionally applied. In my opinion, the red hue closely resembles those found on late model Corvettes.
The ZZ4 is concealed behind a steel, plain top hood and four-row louvered sides. The inside of the entire hood as well as the firewall are finished like the exterior of the car.
The exterior of the car is minimalistic with crisp and clean lines. The door handles have been shaved and the doors are opened using handles located on the interior door panel.
The car does not have side windows.
The fiberglass hardtop has a glass rear window and it is covered in black canvas. The hardtop is bolted on and can be easily removed.
The front turn signals are concealed behind the grill while the tail lights double as rear turn signals.
The car rolls smoothly on polished aluminum wheels. Found on each side of the Magnum chrome, drilled axle are the 15-inch front wheels that are wrapped in Michelin tires. The wide rear wheels are 16 inches in diameter and are wrapped in BFGoodrich tires. Each tire has an abundance of tread life remaining.
Driver and passenger are welcomed to the interior of the car by a genuine leather bench seat equipped with two lap safety belts. The door panels are covered in genuine leather and are home to one-off billet door handles. The leather-wrapped steering wheel sits atop a one-off billet steering column. A full set of white-faced Stewart Warner gauges are found in the car's painted dash in a one-off billet surround. Mounted below the painted dash is a one-off billet control panel that is home to a Pioneer stereo head unit and a set of toggle switches that operate the turn signals, the horn, the head lights, the tail lights, and the electric fan. The Pioneer stereo head unit has AM and FM capabilities and it is also connected to a Pioneer 12-disc CD changer located in the car's trunk. The sounds of the stereo are easily heard thanks to two Pioneer 6x9s located on each of the cabin. In the carpeted floor of the car is a chrome-handled emergency brake. Driver is further accommodated by two side mirrors as well as a rear view mirror that is mounted in the typical position on the windshield.
The trunk of the car is trimmed in the same black leather and carpet that is found inside the car. The CD changer and an Optima red top battery are located behind the trunk's two removable panels.
The car is equipped with Wilwood disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear.
The car's superb looks are maintained by the chassis which is home to numerous painted-to-match components.
Although the car appears as if it belongs on a trailer, the car is very road-worthy and has logged approximately 6000 miles since its completion. The car runs, rides, and drives great and it is a reliable provider of worry-free enjoyment. The car is solid as a rock and free of shakes or rattles. Every aspect of the car functions as it should. I am a perfectionist and this car exceeds all of expectations. As you can imagine, the car draws an abundance of attention with each trip out of the garage. The car has always been stored indoors.
I have uploaded an abundance of pictures the car. Please review the pictures as they will help you understand just how beautiful the car is. You will be pleasantly surprised when seeing the car in the person as the pictures simply don’t do the car justice. If you are looking for a high-quality '32 Ford, your search ends here.
