1916 Ford Model T Depot Hack "Official Picture Car" (see scan)
1916 Ford Model T
The story behind the "HACK"...I purchased this vehicle when my son was working for a non profit museum, Buffalo Gap Historic Village... We had and agreement that the car would be mine, and they could display the Car if they kept it in the "Hack Garage." Over the years, with garage windows left open, rotting doors on the what became a shed instead of a garage, and an extremely leaky roof, I was notified that I had 60 days to come get the car or they would claim the title. About 2 to 3 weeks after the notification I travelled to the "Village" and saw the condition that hopefully I have shone in the Picts... It was heart breaking...
What I have decided to do is to sell the car as is... I want to make sure it is purchased by some one who is willing to restore. The opening bid is $1600 with a buy it now of $6000. I cannot insure any thing except the following. Motor is free and can be turned easily with the crank... The battery is shot and Ignition switch is missing... Tires would need to be replaced if itis to betowed to a new location. They will hold enough air to roll on a trailer... when it was "Garaged" the radiator was drained and also the gas was drained...the plywood that was used in first restoration was not a exterior grade and it is bubbled and cracked... Clear coat on the fenders if degraded. The car IS COMPLETE...
