Background info;
The SVO was the most expensive new Mustang available at the time and boasted suspension, braking, and cosmetic upgrades over the standard Mustang. It feautured a unique front fascia with a revised headlight layout, a dual-wing rear spoiler and a functional off -center hood scoop that helped the turbo get air. The seats were also distinct wrap around buckets since the car was built for handling and road racing.The turbocharged and intercooled 2.3L engine was rated at 175HP, the same rating as the most powerful 5.0 V8 offered in 1984. New they cost $17k, $6k more than a GT.Side note: SVO stands for Fords "Special Vehicle Operations", it was later replaced with SVT division "Special Vehicle Team" in 1993. The 1984 Mustang SVO is the pre-cursor to the highly sought after 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra, they retained similar features including the taillights.

The exterior is in good original condition with no significant damage or aftermarket modifications. The black paint is in nice shape with only minor imperfections and was repainted once approximately 2 years ago due to fading. The original SVO-only 16×7″ 5 lug wheels remain with the car and wear New Goodyear Eagle Sports with only 500 miles on them.
SVO's came standard with 4 wheel disc brakes all around, power windows, power door locks. The car is also equipped with factory air conditioning which is currently inoperable. All the A/C system components remain in place. Its in good condition overall. Not a show car but a solid driver. It drives, steers and stops well. The 2.3 turbocharged and inter-cooledfour cylinder makes the same power stock as the contemporary 5.0 V8, but weighed significantly less, contributing to the improved handling of the SVO over the standard mustang GT.
Keep in mind this car is 34 years old. The body is solid with no rust. Only some surface rust under the hood on some of the metalcomponents. The floors and frame are solid and straight. This SVO has had 3 owners per carfax and states mileage is true.
No accident history.Factory sunroof car is the only option. In 84 the only options for the SVO were either leather or sunroof.
Paint- shines nice, only major flaw is a cosmetic scratch (pictured on the drivers side front bumper from hitting the garage) There are no major dents or dings on the car.The original bi-plane wing does not sag and is in great shape.

Con's-***The front rotors should be turned or re-surfaced very minor shudder when braking (it is not all the time).***It is missing the small interior map light on the ceiling, they are about $10-15 on ebay***There is a scuff on the drivers side front bumper (pictured) not noticeableunless you are right up on it.*** At some point, a previous owner replaced the taillightswith LX Mustang taillights, the 84 SVO taillightsare availableon ebay for $159.***Power door locks do not work, you have to manually lock them.
This is a solid, original first year SVO Mustang, 84 was distinct as it had the sunk in headlights.
