1961 Ford Other Pickups

This is a very unique uni-body truck. The body is original with original factory green paint which has the patina look. The body has surface rust in various places. Other than dents and dings from the past 57 years, it is in pretty good condition. The body was removed from the chassis for it's transformation from work truck to drag truck. The underbody was sandblasted and primed. The outside was intentionally left original. The interior is original except for racing seats and a 6 point (4130) roll cage. The gauges are Stewart Warner vintage, and and the tachometer is an Autometer. It has a Turbo Action Cheetah shifter. The wheel tubs where cut and moved inward for added tire clearance. The windshield, rear window, and door glasses are still glass. The doors and windows are still fully functional. The chassis was stripped of any unnecessary weight while at the same time strengthened in critical areas. The chassis was completely sand blasted and painted. Custom cross members, mid plate, brackets, and a drive shaft loop were added. The leaf springs were separated, sand blasted, painted, reconfigured, and custom solid spring eye bushings were installed. The original front straight axle was reworked with a custom rack and pinion unit and 4 piston caliper disc brakes. The rear end is a custom built 9" Ford. It is narrowed and has heavy duty axle tubes with custom welded reinforcements on the inside of the third member mounting area, to keep it original looking on the outside. It was set up with all new high quality componets such as: Moser nodular iron housing a with Strange engineering aluminum big bearing pinion support, Moser 4130 steel spool, Richmond pro series 4.86 ratio rind and pinion, Moser 35 spine axles, and Wilwood 4 piston disc brakes. The drive shaft is a custom made, balanced, heavy duty unit with 1350 racing u-joints and a Moser steel yoke. The front shocks are adjustable competition engineering. and the rear are adjustable Calvert. The rear traction device is custom ladder bars with leaf springs. The rear tires are 29.5/11.5W Hoosiers, and the front are Moroso Drag Specials on weld wheels. The truck is set up for a small block Ford and a powerglide transmission, but can easily be changed over to your engine/trans preference. There is plenty of room in the engine bay. The vehicle weighs around 3100 lbs. with the small block Ford setup. It will be sold as a rolling chassis without the eng. and trans.. The aluminum double pass racing radiator comes with it, but no exhaust headers. This vehicle has been run in numerous NHRA and IHRA sanctioned events. It hooks up good and drives straight as an arrow.(Rolling Chassis) No motor or transmission.
