1979 Ford F-250 Ranger

Up for auction is an extremely nice, original, one owner 1979 Ford F-250 Trailer Special Pickup with87,892original miles. As we may use the vehicle a little the next week, there may be a few more miles on it by the auction end but no more than 200 miles will be put on it.

I am settling the estate of an 80 year old lady. She and her husband purchased this pickup in October 1978 to pull their 1978 Great Divide camper trailer. I will share everything I know about the pickup, good, bad and ugly, but as her personal rep, I may not know everything about the pickup.

I did notwash it up or Armorall itto take pictures because I did not want to look like I was hiding anything.

Let's start with the good: I believe it is mostly original and unmolested with the exception of the addition of running boards, brake controller, intercom radio, gooseneck and receiver hitch. I do not know if the battery saver under the hood is factory or original. It has factory air conditioning butI amnot sure if itis working correctly. The original AM radio & antenna works great. It has dual fuel tanks and both are operable.I do not believe thatpickup ever sat for any considerable length of time without being ran. I have the original tailgate but cannot find the tailgate hanger straps but I am still looking. I'm not sure if the camper tie downs are original or added. There are no tears in the floor covering or seat, nor cracks in the dash or door panels. The headliner is in excellent condition. A photocopy of the title shows the couple purchased the vehicle in October 1978. The title is clear and I have the legal authority to sign it over to the buyer so there will be no problems with a transfer of ownership.

Now for the not so good. She is a typical cold blooded Ford! If she sits for several days, she's hard to start, especially if it's cold. I typically have to pour gas in the carburetor to get her started at that point. Once she warms up, she runs great. I plan to change the fuel filter this weekend but rebuilding the carb might be in her future. The tires are weather checked and not a lot of tread. It looks like the wind caught the left door at some point as shown in the photographs. There are rock chips in the paint on the front hood and one in the windshield. The rubber molding on the driver door is bad and it is tight to open. The right door doesn't seem to close tight and rattles when you go down the road. I believe the heater core needs replaced. The hose to the air breather is split open and needs replaced. The paint on the hood is oxidized but I think with rubbing compound she would shine like new.

Overall it is a great running pickup but of course with that 460 you aren't buying it for fuel mileage. It is really hard to find an original pickup like this. They have all been sooped up and modified.

Serious buyers may feel free to call ortextme with questions. 719-469-9876. Or you may ask your questions here on ebay.

I have shared everything about the pickup to the best of my knowledge. Pictures don't do her justice. She is a must see.

As I am advertising the pickup locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Non-refundable $1000 deposit due viaPaypalwithin 24 hours of auction end and full payment is due within 3 business days of auction end. Cash or bank wire transfer only please. No trades. I prefer local pickup but if buyer lines up a shipper I will gladly be available to accommodate the shipper's schedule. Removal is preferred within 14 days but if it takes longer, that's ok. I just couldn't be responsible for damages.

Good luck and bid with confidence.
