Description:

1966 Ford Mustang GT

66 Mustang GT K-code fastback with “pony” or deluxe interior.

This car was manufactured in Michigan and originally sold in Virginia. I found it 5 years ago in northern California. It has been a well-cared for car all its life. It has no body suspension or major interior issues. Apparently everyone who has owned it has known that it is an extremely rare vehicle and has treated as such. In my care it has been an occasional driver and taken to many cruise nights and impromptu car shows. It is always well received and desirable.

Color: The original color is Midnight Mist. The car has been repainted at least once. The current color from 1998 is a dark blue metallic, this is very close to the original.

Engine: The original numbers matching engine is missing, but the engine in the car is a HiPo 289. The block is Casting # C5AE6015 VIN 5F07K253160. Heads are # 19 and #21, both Casting # 5D28. Carb is the original Autolite 4100.

Transmission is the original Top-loader 4-speed.

Rear end is the original 9” Ford, 3.50 with Traction Lock

Wheels & tires: Original 14" Ralley wheels with Goodyear P205/75R14 whitewalls in good condition.

The brake master cylinder on the car is a 1967 Mustang dual cylinder, but the original 1966 single cylinder will be sent with the car.

The radio in the car has a reproduction AM-FM that looks original. The original AM radio will be sent with the car.

Issues: The driver’s seat has a tear in it. Not readily noticeable with the door closed, but it is there. See photo. The rear window has some scratches on it. See photos. Also the paint is driver quality. It cleans up nicely, but it is not show quality.

This is a wonderful care free driver that gets a lot of respect from anyone who knows what it is and lots of “oohs” and “awes” from everyone else! It will make the next owner proud.
