1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner

The Ford Galaxie was one of the most popular full size automobiles of its time and came in a variety of trims body styles and engine options. There were sedans coupes hardtops and a "sunliner" convertible. The sunliner was based on the uplevel 500 trimline that offered more luxury and stylish features versus the normal models. In 1962 the Galaxie line was updated with different body panels and a whole new look built around its round rear "afterburner" tailights. This 1962 Ford Sunliner is an ex...cellent example of the great full size Ford convertibles. Featured in stunning shade of Rangoon Red over red and white interior this is a good looking car. The paint quality is very even and in good shape it has dulled a bit with time but still looks very good overall. The chrome trim is in excellent shape and so is the glass. The rear wheels have matching body color fender skirts and whitewall tires ride on the factory steel wheels and hubcaps. The top is in good shape and a white decklid cover fits well. The interior is likewise in great shape. The seats are excellent and have cool white trimming. The heater and instruments appear to be working and an aftermarket stereo hides in the glovebox. The 352cid engine and automatic transmission are a good pair and provide good acceleration and aural pleasures while still being affordable. The current owner has had the car for three years and says the transmission was rebuilt. The car has power steering as well as some recent carb and intake work. While not a show quality vehicle this Sunliner is a beautiful example that would be an excellent cruiser or summer toy. It's a car that still turns heads without breaking the bank. You won't hesitate to drive this car as much as you please!
