Description:

1926 Ford Model T

This is a No Reserve auction so if you place the first bid and someone does not bid it up, you get a hell of a deal. Because this car is for sale locally, wereservethe right to terminate this auction early.
Title # matches block #.

We're all over Kingman with this car: it's so much fun. A very nice Tudor with new upholstery. Still needs a headliner, but we don't spend a lot of time looking up. Paint is excellent. New exterior roof with rain visor. Texas T Distributor with coil on ballast for 12 volt conversion. 12 volt one-wire Texas T alternator. AutoMeter vintage style Temp and Volt gauge. Water pump removed and replaced by EWP80 Davies Craig 12 volt pump on a dash switch with electric fan: Car runs cool anytime of year. Has a battery cutoff to prevent errant battery drain and not for theft since driving a Model T requires unique knowledge, and if it were stolen one pretty much could narrow down the suspect list to geriatrics with GTA rap sheets.
You will probably not need the extra engine because the car runs very well currently, and may for a long time to come, but this sale includes a rebuilt 1927 short block with new babbits and new Grant .040 over rings; valves set and seated. As well, a 1927 hogshead transmissiondisassembledand cleaned (but not reassembled) with Kevlar bands boxed with all components organized. (One could list just thecomponentson Bay and generate a grand...) I hadn't thought of rebuilding the transmission since the one on the car operates very well. I did re-band the extra one with Kevlar and at some point would have put those bands in the car'stransmission. The flywheel of the extra transmission has Oil Slingers I installed thinking that if I pulled the transmission I'd switch out flywheels and maybe triple gear bushings. (If you don't know Model Ts, this probably sounds like I'm writingSanskrit. If you do, you know this is a great extra with this car.)
The car does not run on magneto but uses the current system of distributor, battery and alternator, pushing more oil to the front of the engine through an outside Oiler line: an important change, but is not pictured in the images herein (installed after). (It doesn't hurt to have an extra engine stored for a Model T saving you the time of rebuilding the current engine should it fail - chasing down parts, babbitting the rods and crank, and so on.) This extra engine and transmission is easily worth more than $2500 apart from the car and is NOT for sale separately: it goes with the car.
No seat belts so you are thrown free of the collision in the event of an accident. We usually confine Airbags to the back seat. There is NO RUST on this body and it is 100% steel and original. The windshield wiper is an advanced, infinitely variable vitreous surface de-moisturizer utilizing 1926 cutting edge hand-arm technology.
Four tires and tubes on the road are like new. Spare's mediocre but is OK for driving on short distance, or use the can of fix-a-flat under the seat, although we've not had to do that. Spokes are all tight. Bands are OK in transmission: Goes forward, back, and stops as a Model T does. Doors lock as they should and all four window regulators function, but they are opposite-world of power windows.
Included is the rebuilt engine with rods torqued to 35 and jam nuts to 180ip, not using cotter pins which require torquing to less or more than needed; aflattenedheadtorqued to 45 with new copper gasket (you can paint the head any color you like: I got it from the shop Ford blue); valves seated and gapped correctly; a new front end internal oiler from brass/copper; 3 split rims (21") that vary from "if I have to" to good; 2 spoke wheels that will need service, spokes and paint; wheel bearings for front; extra front axle with spindles; extra rear end with tube and drive; extra suspension springs; a generator that's crapped out and in pieces; original fan drive and mount; rebuilt extra starter motor; bunches of extra stuff all specific to 26-27; and whatever else I can dig up.

Does it come with a warranty? This is a 91 year old automobile. So, No. You ought to know something about internal combustion machinery to own this car. In other words, it's not a good car for Millennials who don't know how to ring a doorbell without their iPhone. Clean title in our names.
Does this car leak oil? A little but surprisingly less than other Model Ts: The pan and inspection panel are pretty well sealed. Radiator's like new owing to prior owner replacing it, so no leaks and no repairs.
I'll probably update this listing as I think of other things.

Key words: Schlage Yale Kwikset Stanley (Get it?)
